I need a scenario where all three are in mortal danger (orchestrated by John, possibly as a bid to be Aaron’s knight in shinning armour) and an injured/out of it Aaron calls out for his husband. Robert looks defeated & John looks all smug until Aaron says Rob’s name instead 🫢

Aaron being all “Where’s my husband..?? Where is he, where’s Robert…”

Ok, but now give me weeks of indifference.

Give me Robert learning that there's more to life than Aaron, more places in the village he can go other than his (ex)husband's side. Give me Rob re-learning his roots, making new connections, reminding people who he is and showing who he has grown into.

Give me avoidance. Getting up and leaving when the other comes into the cafe, into the shop. Changing the subject, moving plans, staying in. Give me "oh look my phone is ringing; gonna go stand a long way over there so I can answer it in private".

Give me one stolen glance. One held gaze.

Give me eyes looking from their very corners. A neck turned so fast a tendon snaps. Lingering at the bar because it's where he goes on a Friday after work and it feels nice to just be able to look at him. See that he's ok. That one of them, at least, is still breathing.

And, when it all comes crashing down, give me "how could you think I could forget us", "it drove me mad having you so close and yet not with me", "I wanted you for so long, I'll never let you go again"...

Give me, "don't you know that I'm suffocating without you?"

And give it to me now.

With his slightly puffed out chest, licking his lips and holding his head high to accentuate his profile for Robert is the same as a peacock fanning his colourful feathers for the females.

Aaron knew exactly what he was doing...and it worked!

Had the most wonderful mini #Robron dream and I NEED something like this to happen in the show.

Picture this:

Somewhere down the line Robert ends up working in the garage. Aaron is (annoyingly) still married to John at this point, but it’s shifted into a full emotional abuse with John trapping Aaron in the marriage. Aaron is in denial about it. Robert and Aaron are drawing closer to each other like magnets, (yay emotional cheating!) despite Aaron fighting it tooth and nail.

Late night call at the garage, Aaron pulls his car in whilst Robert is closing up. It’s a parallel to their first time way back in 2014, only the roles are flipped.

They get into a classic Robron argument ending with Aaron saying how much hell he’d been through across the six years without him.

“You really want to know how much hell I went through in there Aaron-?”

“Yeah, I really do, because it’s nothing compared to the-“

Much to Aaron’s surprise, Robert takes his shirt off and sees dozens of scars of various healing covering Rob’s torso and abs, similar to his own. There’s a faint outline of the word ‘F*g’ scraped into his skin.

“I guess I was a bit too vocal about my love for you” Robert gives a half hearted attempt at humour, the mask falls quick once he meets Aaron’s eyes.

Aaron is horrified, cue those gorgeous Danny Miller tears in his eyes.

Long beat.

“Six years…for six years they tried to beat that love out of me. But they could never do it, Aaron. Until the day I quit breathing, I will always love you with pride.”

Long beat, both boys are teary and locked in intense eye contact, full of unspoken things.

Robert breaks first, feeling self conscious and grabs his shirt to pull it back on-

“Don’t-“

Aaron steps forward, and gently reaches out to brush his fingers over the word on Rob’s skin, Robert watches his every move, slowly drawing his eyes up to gage Aaron’s expression. It’s tender and full of emotion.

Aaron’s fingers brush there way up his body, touching each scar, until his fingers aren’t enough and he softly kisses the small scars near his collar bone.

Robert closes his eyes in absolute bliss and relief, like the whole weight of his life is melting away with every little touch from Aaron. He’s wanted this for soooo long.

“Aaron…”

Aaron reaches his mouth and the kiss is soft, full of everything they can’t say. It gets more heated until they just fully give into each other and it’s glorious (and the most alive both have felt in six years; suck on that John!)

Cue the rolley polley in Aaron’s car in the garage!

Emmerdale writers, I know ya’ll are capable of cheesy stuff like this so GIVE IT TO ME.
