Time may have robbed us of our lustre, but the way you make my heart flutter will stay with me forever! Honestly there are many songs that I can imagine her playing, but since I can’t make you guys listen to ALL OF THEM I will pick this one: Rachmaninoff Prelude Op 23 No. 2 I imagined the setting to be the stage of a hypothetically abandoned and destroyed Paris opera house Palais Garnier. I originally wanted the background to just be flat because the foreground is already so busy but decided to make the picture super extra by drawing in tons of clouds instead because I’m a sucker for them. ………….I thought it was obvious that the violin in Yuri on Ice equals Victor? I mean, the moment the violin pops up is literally the moment Yuuri designates as the day he met Victor in Hasetsu…? It’s in the text? And since the original, pre-remake version of the song features only piano, we can infer that piano = Yuuri? I’m really glad to bring it to people’s attention if it wasn’t obvious because it’s so neat (and if you think of Yuri on Ice The Music as a metaphor for not only Yuuri’s love and life but also Yuri on Ice the Series, the bit where the violin drops out of the song and the piano plays alone is obviously episode 9) but I never thought people wouldn’t notice it…. ………………..wait a minute. That means that the moment where the violin just soars and takes over the song while the piano dances alongside it after the first time the piano developed its own confident melody……that was the kiss? THAT WAS THE KISS, WASN’T IT????? And of course, the place where they put the quad flip in episode 7 is where the piano and the violin matched notes in the song-as-currently-performed….. I don’t know whether I love or hate the use of music in this series. IT’S INSANE. IT’S JUST SO METANARRATIVELY LAYERED AND INSANE.
