The room is filled with golden light from the window, a breeze rolling in, your hums quiet and sweet. And Johan?

He closes his eyes and listens. He lets your presence calm the storms in his head. It’s healing. It’s everything he never knew he needed.

Sometimes, when you think he’s asleep, he’ll open his eyes just to look at you. At the gentle way you run your hands through his hair. At the soft curve of your lips when you're focused on a book or singing under your breath.

It makes his chest ache—in the best way. A slow, blooming kind of ache, like warmth curling through old wounds he forgot were still there.

It’s the kind of feeling that tightens in his ribs, soft and stubborn, refusing to leave. Not painful.

Just... full. 

And then, without warning, he’ll look up at you with something vulnerable in his eyes. He’ll reach up, cup your cheek, and kiss you softly. Tentatively. Like he's still not sure he deserves it.

You're surprised, smiling against his lips as he pulls away.

“What was that for?” you ask, breath light.

He just shakes his head and offers the smallest, most beautiful smile.

One that barely reaches his lips, but says everything with his eyes.

His voice barely a whisper, "I just... wanted to."

He won’t answer. Just shakes his head with a shy grin that makes your heart flutter.

Because how could he explain it? How could he tell you that you make him feel like home for the first time in his life?

In moments like these, Johan doesn’t need to say I love you. You feel it in every lingering glance, every hand held tighter than usual, every silent kiss on your temple. 

In the way his hand never drifts far from yours, in the silence between your breaths, in every quiet kiss and lingering glance.

To him, you are home. And in your arms, he’s finally safe enough to rest.
