Verical Herbs Garden
Concept idea of this project is changing a junk space of Bunsiri or Khongsan community to a space that can increase value of that space to be like torist attraction or space that local people can take benefit to do they job

start with site analysis, the parameter that i interesting is HUMIDITY, because i want to study why a place like Bunsiri where is a located a lot of warehouse that next to a river not have any effect with Humidity, answer is this site have a good ventilation to blow out that humid, but it have one point that different, where is a small pathway between 2 warehouse that have a high humidity level

INCREMENTAL ECOLOGY
The project take place at Ratchaprarob junction which is a new interactive experimental park. It’s serves as a communal space which enhance the activity that’s occurring on site related to the activity which related to the methodology of cleaning contaminated natural resource. Bringing people from public park together with a people on suburban to create new engagement between group of people constantly, incrementally

The way to make people on site consider about the environment is to taught them how to cleanse them. So the new protocol have been emerge as a workshop cart make out of dissemble Tuk-Tuk cart. The workshop cart separated into 4 part allow people on site to interact with.

Ratchaprarob district is being look after by the organization of Dindaeng department. So the protocol from previous phase have been speculate to be use by the organization roaming around site to beautify the public space according to the interview of people in the organization there is a competition inside the organization to improve the public space which the winner district will get a raise salary along with fame as a sample district for the other district to follow.

My project reflects on the metabolic properties of some materials or some artifacts to change, grow or shrink, and modify. Those properties are investigated across different scales, to propose an intervention that embraces different life cycles while reconstructing a faded identity.
Koh San Chao is a rural area surrounded by trees. and hidden away from central Bangkok. In the past, this village was part of the water transportation pathway. This village is also well known for the production of some valuable craft and the presence of well preserved vernacular architecture.

This diagram shows the crafts that belongs to. This diagram shows the crafts that belong to have the ability to decompose after their life cycle.

"Perfume powder" or in Thai "Pang Pueng" is a traditional craft which I choose to study. This heritage craft is a transformation of flower garland to create an expanded life cycle, to create the garland that can be used longer made of salt powder mixed with the Thai traditional perfume and dotted on a string so it can create more complex shapes.
So, every two years we have to decompose it by hanging this garland outside exposed to the rain. When the powder has dissolved, we can reuse the structure of the perfume powders again. Throwing it away, instead of decomposing, is considered a rude gesture, because not respectful of the process of crafting.

Being interested in the architectural techniques that make change and modification possible, I’ve started to study the Thai house of the site, with specific attention to its joineries, that allows reversible constructions. Vernacular wooden joinery is sophisticated details that reveal a deep knowledge of construction material, are embedded with decorative and cultural components that, most of the time, have also functional meaning.
Because of all of these wooden segments were crafted customized. So the house will have only one piece in the world and contain a sentimental value for the owner and their family.

As described, This area had a rich cultural background, in relation to those intricate powder structures as well as more traditional local techniques. But, being this community relatively isolated from the rest of the city, a progressive stagnation happens in term of economic and human resources. My project proposed new interventions to give more centrality to those declining crafts and reinventing their role within the community.
So, I thought what kind of interventions could attract people back in the neighborhood, and at the same time create an opportunity to learn from the existing crafts and knowledge, incorporating some of those metabolic properties so interesting in those vulnerable artifacts and reinforcing a declining visual identity.
I decided to use the area in front of the temple pier, which once was a floating market felt in disuse because constrained to the only use of boats.

I designed types of structures to support three different functions with changing cycles

First, market, I want to bring back the activities that which once were supporting the local economies. So I decided to redesign the market, which once was floating,  creating a more stable condition, still in deep connection to the canal. So I created a floating structure learning from the Thai timber house structure and construction, incorporating some elements that allow possibilities of spatial reconfigurations. Being the structure’s use related to the calendar, what is a market during the weekend (or dry season) becomes a more open space for activities or perfume doing workshops during the week (or wet season), implying a set of spatial transformation related to the practicalities of the powder making. For example, the ceiling of one part is adjustable to hang long perfume powder strings.
Incorporating also other elements typical of vernacular architecture, for example adjustable louvres are designed at the side, to protect the inside space for either sun or rain.

Beside the market, a few smaller floating gardens and pavilion have been considered, to support the market and perfume making programs with spaces for eating and flower or vegetable gardens. The bigger one is integrated with food composters and water collectors, for the production of organic fertilizer during dry season, and perfumes during wet season.

The last one is a floating garden which I design to have two sizes to allow various plantation. The umbrella structure part of the garden will contain multiplethe perfume powder strings. So in the rainy season, the powders erfume part will melted by the rain. Embracing the metabolism of the powder balls, a modification is proposed, to reinvent the role of the powders by including seed and nutrients, and make them released progressively to the soil with the first rain

Bun Siri Theater
How to reconsider abandoned spaces ? Here is the story of a lonely building. 
ACT I

Tonight there is a strange feeling between the old buiding and the river. They used to be close friend in the past. They were part of an international herb trade that made Bun Siri famous. 
But today trucks replaced boats and they don’t talk anymore. Especially since the riverfront buiding got damaged by a fire a few years ago. The rivers ignores Bun Siri and prefer to talk with its new buddies: the modern high rises.
To gest out of his seclusion he uses the symbol of the warehouses to make the river remember about their common history. And to show that he is still alive he enlarges inhabitants on his giant screen-facade.

ACT II

The chinese house is proud of her past: she used to be a beautifull residence for rich traders. But she is also proud of her skin now. She doesn’t understand why people prefer new buidings. It took her ages to build up her wrinkles, her patches and traces.
She is proud of getting old. For her, having a complete restoration would erase her identity. Today she decided to highlight all her defects, she brings light and look at herself in the miror. Her beauty spreads all over the room. the space is magnified by her reflections.
Her defects create a new landscape around Bun Siri. Everytime she looks at herself the morphology of the neighbourhood expand.

ACT III

The amplifier hasalways been a quiet man; looking for silence and seclusion he moved to Bun Siri not long ago; When he arrived here he was amazed by the peace of this area; he almost felt outside Bangkok. 
He is very receptive to the slightest noise and prefer to settle in quiet areas. But when some humans discovered him one day, they found that he can be used as an amazing tool. They put their head in his body to heat the sounds of the area. This lonely caracter began to like the the presence of the inhabitants. Days after days he solidified himself to host human activities. Today they come to rest, to meditate and sometimes to amplify their voices.

      The project focus on the Interaction between human and architecture. At first, It was an urban game to explore the in-between public and private in Bun Siri. And to go further the basic use of the street, it purposed to misunderstand some elements like a physical boundary or a prominent roof to purpose new movements or activities. This choreography goes with some tape drawings in the street we saw on the first video.

In this first proposal, inhabitant become actors of the street. 
Then I focused on this idea of a theater stage.
Abandoned buildings are always a space for imagination. We can project a lot of stories into old walls. The piece of theater purpose a few modification to enlight the existing infrastructure and to reconsider this abandon space.
It takes a new point of view. The personification of architectural elements is a way to magnifying the sounds, the materiality, the inhabitant and the history.
This project is a place for imagination.

Vulnerability of communities
The location assigned for this project is the Ratchawong - Din Daeng area, the site included both side of the Chao Phraya river which leads to the focus of finding connection between both community.
Aim: Community base project, design to upgrade the community, preserving and advancing

Highly domestic area- economic activity happens to serve local people (informal)
No physical landmark, local don't acknowledge the value of this place
Invading public space with domestic purpose, unorganized?  A sense of comfort within community- forming gathering space in front of their house
People are more open-minded and friendly
Conflict existed within area: City proposed bridge to be build across Ratchawong pier and Din Daeng pier. Causing conflicted opinion between both side of the river, for the problem differs for both area. Community base project, other stakeholders opinion were not accounted.
              “ Problem of the city is NOT the problem of the community ”

Phase4 - Time of Use, Time of Modification
Adaptation to change (A year in Talat Noi)
As times goes by, things change and need to adapt themselves to find their fitness relate to the context. Some change forever, Some change and lose some part, Some change just for a short period moreover reverse back to their origin again. Just like Talat Noi, the heritage neighborhood in bangkok which nowadays becomes the main location of the international-scale event, Bangkok design week.

This map not just depict the image of Talat Noi but also showing how the space has been hack in each event and festival, extract the word hack in three topics;
1.) Reverseable
2.) Adaptable
3.) Ephemeral(temporary change)
The bottom row showing the space in front of the rong kuek shrine. The front court were used in the different ways depends on the event. The long wall of street art could be also the best example of the idea Reverseable. At first the painting will be starting by the artist and when the artist gone, the kids come to play with it.
The middle row represent the different between day and night in Talat noi’s normal day that’s totally contrast with the first row during the events.
The Top part is mostly focus on the idea Ephemeral. How the space was changed for a while. This is the car park in front of the Zhou zue kong shrine which in the night time, All the cars will be asked to move out for the chinese festival that required different arrangement.

As the area was use in different ways and need to support a lot of activities, This structure, inspired by the steel stretch door, was invented to benefits the event also the local community in normal day. The structure has a potential to transform in many ways, allow for specific requirements also the hack of car spares to creates the Universal joint, allow variety plug-in to join to make this structure become more the adaptive structure.

Phase 4: Communal isolation
Bangkok Yai Canal has a special condition on its site as the canal lays almost perpendicular to the sun orientation during the day. The light effects give a different atmosphere to the community and give an opportunity for people to sue for the particular use of light and spaces on its favors.

Phahurattopia
Pahurat, wholesale & retail fabric market in Bangkok, is the oldest textile market in Thailand with more than 100 years of history. The market is at stake of disappearing with the passing of time.
In a fast-paced world driven by science and technology, the context of space has been changed. To illustrate, an online market is in the same context but in a different format.

This project is motivated by the concept of Prof. Keller’s brand revitalisation strategies, refreshing old sources of equity and create new sources of equity. Through the use of the strategies, it aims to both attract new customers and bring back good old customers to Pahurat by creating a co-working space for entrepreneurs to do work, develop products, and receive first-hand advice from those sophisticated merchandisers with decades of selling experience. In order to add more layers of activities to the market, they will also be able to touch the raw materials, i.e., fabrics and be provided space for hosting events and workshops. Board gaming is also employed to demonstrate the use of this co-working space by providing the users possessing the same interests on how to exchange information.

The combination of façade extension and an overhead conveyor system is introduced as value-added equity to highlight the circulation of the customers in the market. The overhead conveyor system exhibits a mechanism circulating fabrics directly to the co-working space. The façade, therefore, acts as a screen that enables people walking around to browse through or examine the dynamic market in an active, animated way.

PHASE 2 - BEER CHUCKING DEVICE
Ratchaprarop Junction is located in one of the most centralized and dense areas in Bangkok. With influence from the highway infrastructure, the community is forced to adapt to the conditions that follows the contemporary influences.

By taking one of the most popular routines of the people in the community, which is drinking beer, the proposal brings upon a small scale device that can serve as both beer drinking space during the evening and also a leisure space for people during the day.

The imbalance between people in high rise building and informal house in Rachaprarob community. There is still overlap moment between them, but lack of public space to support those moment. This led the project to focused on finding potential hidden space.
There are many billboard inside the community, which the space under billboard also become hidden small community of low-income people. The space is full of potential to develop. Drawing from above, the entire billboard structure was divided in to main three layers, which on the top will be covered with water system, second on the middle will be covered mostly with purifying plant, and lastly on the bottom will be provided for dwelling in which all the existing house that located in front of billboard will be moved on billboard, so that space will become a communal space, where all people, high-rise or informal house people, come and gathering in that space.

The Cabinet of Curiosities (continued)
The bustling streets of Yaowarat was the initial base of the project, where a study into a number of factors consequently led to a focus on the diverse group of locals living in the area. Specifically, these were the lottery ladies- individuals who are present around every corner, yet, so mistakenly overlooked. The project explores the fantasies and hidden yearnings of these individuals, creating a cult only known to a selected few- welcome to The Cabinet of Curiosities...

The thin veil between living and existing is challenged the moment one ponders the notion of the question- what is the difference between livingand existing? In sociological parlance, living is enjoyingthe time period of life- living is going out and exploring, doing the reckless or insane, rolling with the punches- immersing oneself in his own yearnings and thoughts. In contrary, existing is a long survival, it is the state of being here physically, simply doing what one has to do to get through the day- or on auto-pilot, only experiencing what one needs to ensure the basic means for survival; such as food, water, and shelter. The two states are homogeneous, but at the same time, completely discrete.
Situated off the main road of Yaowarat, sits a police station (Phlap Phla Chai Police Station. At first glance, it is a buzzling, yet mundane building. However, as one may come to observe, positioned on top of the building, sits a shrine- a Chinese shrine to be exact, with its upturned “artichoke leaf” design roof and heavily ornamented pillars. This is the Shrine of Yi Kor Hong, or Thailand’s Father of Lottery. The shrine is a populous place of worship for those in the knowof the lottery scene, where every day many would come lighting incenses and bearing gifts, in hopes of winning the lottery. Little do these people know that the shrine is simply a diversion. A distraction from the truth of the spectacles and atrocities which goes on inside the police station. It acts as a gateway for only the privileged (lottery ladies), whom of which are selected by means of lottery.

The proposal, The Cabinet of Curiosities, is an obscure haven, a sanctuary which allows one to fully indulge in one’s own passion, dreams, love, and desires. The compound is composed of seven different rooms, veiled inside the police station where each acts as an innuendo to the Seven Deadly Sins- pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, andsloth. The sins here are seen as objectsin the Cabinet of Curiosities. Each room (cabinet) enfolds users in its qualities, allowing one to see, hear, touch, smell, and taste. Want to savor the taste of lust? Or perhaps listen to the sounds of envy? The Cabinet of Curiosities cultivates all of these encounters. It is a place to unleash, a place to find purpose, or simply yet, a place to live.
