From "1127", song of LMF dedicated to Bruce Lee
"We only want you to become a Chinese you can be proud of. Learn from others; Need not copy. Use your heart to digest the knowledge of others. Try asking why there are so many failures here who do not support each other and always pretend to be like other people.
[Chorus] We had Bruce Lee teach us we are not the "Sick Man of Asia". Though having yellow skin, we can still be ourselves. Do not follow, copy, and be like the other. Do not look down upon ourselves.... The spirit of Bruce Lee will never die and the Chinese will never forget that"

Dare Ya! watch this documentary !
"Dare Ya!" explores what has made the members of Hong Kong's most controversial band, LMF (LazyMuthaFuckaz), the new "voice of Hong Kong youth".
Their music may raise eyebrows with the older generation, but to their hardcore fan base, LMF's point of view is their "voice" and their music is the heartbeat--and their hopes, dreams, nightmares, concerns, problems, and solutions for their future.
As the title of this raw, different, relevant, and timely film suggests, "Dare Ya!" is a challenge to Hong Kong to take a good look at itself, warts and all, because only by facing up to our flaws can we become the "World City" that we aspire to.
"Dare Ya!" is not just a documentary about the exploits and growth of ten ordinary young men from the Estates who just happen to be members of a rap band, but a wake-up call for Hong Kong.

Do you know “Nasty China Style” ? A Tolerable Gangnam Parody Highlights Hong Kong-Mainland Rivalry
This is the biggest buzz in Hong Kong for many reasons : First, it’s sung in Cantonese; Second it's under Red Army Orchestra meme”. And third, it highlights the ongoing Hong Kong-mainland China rivalry, which transcends Gangnam...
Nasty China Style, a song portraying day-to-day conflicts between Mainland Chinese and Hongkonger in Hong Kong, has already passed over the 1 million mark in a week. “Nasty China Style” has even become a popular phrase online.
In fact , the song title should be translated as “Nasty Shina Style”. “Shina”, derived from “China” in Sanskrit, is the most offensive name for China in both Japanese and Chinese.

Chinese Fans Enraged over PSY’s Appearance Fee in China: Reactions over Weibo
After the rumor of his performance, Chinese netizens expressed their disdain, questioning if PSY’s appearance really warrants that much money. Most of the upset comments were pointed at the absurdly high amount PSY had demanded, arguing there are better ways to spend a few million yuan than on watching horse dance.
For example, netizen Amy commented: “Please use the money on elevating people’s livelihood.” Or another one that says “I’d rather use the money to buy winter clothes and foods for kids living in rural areas.”
You can also read over Weibo other comments : “Psy asked for about 100,000 yuan per minute, and that’s not included the private-jet round trip. Why spending so much money on inviting a South Korea to sing something that no one can understand? It’s much better to use the money on rural areas in Western China.”
Others don’t like the idea because they think the gala is part of Spring Festival celebration tradition and someone foreign shouldn’t be part of a Chinese tradition. “It’s a gala for the Chinese people. It’s for a happy family reunion. Why invite a South Korean?” Another netizen "Anne" said: “There are many talented performances and singers in China. Please give them more chance and they are much cheaper, too. There is no need to invite an international star.”
In a summarizing call, 老徐时评, a famous social critic on Sina Weibo with over 140k followers, said: “Production team of the gala, please listen to people’s voices. Almost 100% of those who left a comment to this post said they didn’t want the gala to spend so much money on Psy. Please be democratic just this once and don’t fight against the people.“

The BIG rumor now in China...
South Korean rapper Psy, whose global hit “Gangnam Style” just became most-viewed record with 826 million views, is rumored to perform at the 2013 Spring Festival Gala.
And that’s a BIG deal… First because it would be his first time to perform in China and second, because it’s the Chinese New Year special produced by China Central Television. The broadcast has a yearly viewership of over 700 million viewers, making it one of the premiere television events of Mainland China, even the largest audience in the world. The show features various acts, such as drama, dance, music, and comedy and it’s usually the best shared family moment, except for the 2007 edition. Panned by critics online as lacking in creativity and novelty, this 2007 edition gained infamy for the mass breakdown referred to as the "dark three minutes" where the six hosts, Zhu Jun, Zhou Tao, Li Yong, Dong Qing, Zhang Zequn and Liu Fangfei collectively started a chain of misread and mistimed lines.
“The biggest dream of Psy is to perform at CCTV’s 2013 Spring Festival Gala, even if without any compensation,” according to Liao Siyong, director at Xingfeng Media. Liao continued to say that the proposed quotation to CCTV is RMB 3 million per 30 minutes plus a private-jet round trip !
When journalists asked CCTV spokesman Ma Xing about the rumor, he neither confirmed nor denied it. So let’s just say that there is still a chance that Psy will horse-dance on the stage of China’s annual Spring Festival Gala… Stay tuned !

"Don't look down"
Nicknamed "spiders" for their gravity-defying skills in web-like constructions, Hong Kong's bamboo scaffolders have risen above predictions that their trade would disappear.
But in Hong Kong, 1,835 registered bamboo scaffolders continue to play a vital role in forming the constantly changing skyline of the Chinese territory, and each year a handful of new recruits sign up.
Trade knowledge is passed down to younger workers through an apprenticeship system and on-the-job learning. It takes several years before wages reach the going rate of around 700 to 800 HK$ a day for experienced scaffolders.
Newly-qualified scaffolders can expect to earn 350 to 400 HK$ a day, staying on that rate for the first four years until they take a masters qualification.
At that wage, and with the risks involved, scaffolding is not a popular choice... there was also no guarantee of a continuous supply of bamboo poles in the future.

Meet "Captain China"
This is not a parody from some Chinese comic fans or netizens who want to mock the Chinese government. This is a published comic book by Chi Wang and Jim Lai at Excel Comics.
Captain China is intended as “a propaganda-styled comic series aimed at capturing the main-stream consciousness of China. The stories will reflect and give insight to China’s current political stance, social environment, and cultural differences by blending complex characters, historical information, geographic locations, comic satire, and over-the-top explosive action!”
The biggest fun of reading the comic is the crash between a Mao era mind that has been programmed to fight the evil Americans and the modern China thinking that is struggling to globalize. For example, when explaining to Captain China why he has to change his name, someone from the Chinese government says: “This country [China] is trying to embrace capitalism.
To the dismay of this Mao-era superhero, Captain China’s first mission is to protect President Obama during his visit to China.
