        Their fingers intertwined.

                                   As much as Nana might worry, Lucas is fine now. The images from mere moments ago already feel like they left him hours if not days ago. They’ve been chased off by the velvety embrace of night, the undying loyalty of his dog, & the warmth of the girl who was out so late just for his sake.

                                   But, no, she wouldn’t have to do that any longer for him. Weak as his legs might be, he didn’t want to keep her any longer than he had to. Both of them had to be getting home, now; both of them needed rest. They were drained from the past hour. The past day. The past week. Perhaps even longer. It sure felt that way.

                                   ❝ I’m fine, Nana, really. ❞ Lucas wasn’t frustrated with her, not in the slightest. The repeated assurance actually rode on a laugh. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze. ❝ ‘Sides, even if we’re both worn out, we ought’a head back. I’d love to stay out & look at the stars with you, but y’know, you & I both gotta rest after all that…there’ll be tomorrow night. A bed’s way more comfy than the ground, anyhow. ❞

                                   The stars…the sun was finally slipping out of sight, & stargazing in Tazmily was always indescribable. The Pigmasks’ changes made them harder to see, but still, if you foundjust the right spot, like out behind his house or up on the cliff where Nana watched the sea, it was breathtaking.

                                   ❝ But…for real, would you wanna do that tomorrow? ❞ he offered. ❝ I missed you during the last week. ❞ Was it really only a week that they hadn’t spoken? Goodness. He could swear it was longer.

                                   By then, Boney insisted on the two reunited friends getting home, & began to circle them hurriedly before starting down the hill, stopping to make sure Lucas was following, yapping for his attention. Understanding right away, he tugged softly on Nana’s hand — a sign that he wanted her to recover, & that he was well enough for the two of them to walk back together, at least to his house. He was fine, he was fine, & he wanted Nana to know it. He wanted her to be fine.

     He would love to stay to look at the stars? With her? She knew they went through a lot now but... With Nana? The girl couldn’t be more thankful that the sun was shooting its last few rays, and noticing her red cheeks would be harder. She wasn’t even close to getting over him, was she? The girl stood speechless for a few long seconds before her lips some improvides words finally decided to speak.

                 ❝ ...Y-Yep! You’re right, we should go... Right now. Please. ❞

     She started to walk again at a fast pace, one hand pulling Lucas with her one step behind and the other covering her mouth. Her heart was beating way too fast from her comfort, so loud she was afraid that he could hear it. Lucas should really give her a warning before saying stuff like that! Nana couldn’t think of anything to say to break the awkwardness while she reorganized her thoughts, but the boy’s request made her slower her pace, close to stopping.

     The girl seemed thoughtful once again as a new emotion joined the game. She had no idea if she’d even be allowed to enter her house tonight, who knows if she’d be in conditions to normally go back to Tazmily and stay besides someone without him noticing anything different? Nana found herself without many options. She let go of his hand and held both of hers together.

     Thank god it’s already dark outside.

                ❝ I would love to, Lucas. I really would! But... hehe, I guess I’ll probably get grounded for staying out so late. Maybe next week..? Ya know how parents can be about curfew, haha... Now let’s go, I can see your house already! ❞

     Boney seemed to have noticed the house already as well, and barked for the two to hurry as he ran ahead. Nana only followed the dog’s pace.

Fate doesn’t seem to have any important plans for me, at least yet, so I guess if I do get those powers one day it will be at the right time. Destiny knows what it does, that’s why we’re still here after all. ❞

{{ You know, I haven’t done one of these in a while. Might be time for another one.

I’ve been around for a while, but for those who may not know me, I’m a Lucas blog, and I just did some minor housekeeping after a period of scarce activity. I’d like to find others in-fandom, so please like and/or reblog if you’re a MOTHER/Earthbound RP blog and I’ll take a look at you! I follow several blogs out-of-fandom and there’s a serious lack of mother content on my dash.
