Calling it now, some people are going to be shocked and upset when Xavier finally dissapears because they didn't know this is his last Spring. They're going to crash out fight about it then they're going to be surprised when he comes back months later and think it wasn't all planned to begin with.

People who flip flop LIs after hating them are doing it because they are not reading the material or not reading outside of the main story. The sudden love comes from the new cutscenes that give the characters a new perspective but those who have been paying attention to the story were already aware.

Yes absolutely, lovely mention here! They probably don't even read MS a lot of the times. And esp crucial stuff like anecdotes that tell us what the LIs are like when MC's not in front of them and how they're multidimensional charas rather than just representations of tropes.

They basically just know too little about them to love them properly-- loving one fragment of them while ignoring the rest of the picture

People can like an LI shallowly actually. You have no right to dictate how people enjoy anything. Sure it sucks that some people only like his merman ver over all his facets but this isn't a real person. He is a character created to fulfill fantasies and if the merman persona hit the target audience that's what the devs want. Stop gatekeeping these fictional men as if they were real people you have to protect from objectification.

For me and many others they're far more than "just" fictional men-- they got us thru the hardest of days, and they've changed our lives for the better in unimaginable ways

Even if they're not real people, they hold memories and intense emotions for a lot of players for a variety of reasons, so itrs not s pleasant feeling when others objectify them regardless of whether they're real or not

Don't wanna be negative but it's kiiiinda pissing off when I see people suddenly wifing Raf up after his myth just because he's a hot merman now. You can't just like an LI selectively, that's so shallow

I know people are allowed to change their mind and opinions and I love to see him get more love, but it still feels kinda bad as someone who's loved raf since day 1 of playing. Same for those who hated Caleb when he debuted and now suddenly love him after his bday card just because it was spicy or because his yan Colonel side of him is hot. That's not all that there is to these wonderful men, you know. You've gotta love all parts of them

Going from neutral → loving them is still understandable

But those who flipped from extreme dislike or even hate suddenly switching over to simping over them feels so hypocritical
