#IWD2022 #breakthebias ♀️ #genderequality will take us +200 years to reach. Getting there, does not start with governments and policy. Those are just enablers and support structures to a culture that first needs to exist in our minds and hearts, then it all starts in the home, in our micro-environments. ♀️It expands outwards into extended families, communities, society and then the world at large. ♀️Men are the most important part of that equation - without them being progressive & truly believing in #genderequality change will not happen in families and communities, the world over. ♀️How they treat the mother/s of their children speaks volumes to both sons and daughters and determines our global future. How a man treats his mother, wife, daughter, sister, etc is how he thinks, and how he will treat work colleagues, subordinates and leadership. Things like gender pay gaps and exec leadership is determined through his thought, word & deed. ♀️Our role as women today is to constantly hold the men in our lives, accountable for their thoughts, words, and deeds. #IWD2022 #breakthebias ♀️ #genderequality will take us +200 years to reach. Getting there, does not start with governments and policy. Those are just enablers and support structures to a culture that first needs to exist in our minds and hearts, then it all starts in the home, in our micro-environments. ♀️It expands outwards into extended families, communities, society and then the world at large. ♀️Raising a daughter becomes a matter of critical consciousness, and raising a future leader who is female, is a matter of precision parenting loaded with conscious strategic intent, all made up of seemingly insignificant beliefs and daily words and actions. ♀️How she is treated, spoken to, and allowed to express herself in the most mundane things is actually what will get us to #genderequality. ♀️Men are the most important part of that equation - without them being progressive & truly believing in #genderequality change will not happen in families and communities, the world over. ♀️As women it is our responsibility to ensure the men in our lives are feminists or at least believe in 'gender equality'.
