Sonic the Hedgehog seems to retain memories from the erased/rewritten timeline from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), in which they met Elise, Iblis had covered the world in fire, and when eventually Sonic, Shadow and Silver defeated Solaris. Whenever Sonic realizes he’s mentioned these events, he awkwardly segues into a different conversation topic.

Although Sonic is alone in clearly remembering certain key events, other characters have been shown to have a déjà vu-like recollection of the game's alternate timeline.

For clarification on the Team Sonic Racing (2019) screenshots, Silver the Hedgehog doesn't make any declarations of destroying Sonic in Sonic Rivals (2006), which contains their first canonical interaction when disregarding the events of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), but he directly does in the Japanese translation of the latter game.
