Jazzy olive workshop:

Today we had a workshop led by jazzy olive which was getting us to focus on what our values are, we filled out sheets based on different factors that influence our values and overall design manifestos. We then paired up and were tasked with drawing each other without looking at the paper and lifting the pen. This made us work well together and after listening to the presentation we were stacked with designing our own manifestos in either a poster, zine or short video, I chose to make mine in the form of a poster that took shape as a word search. I chose a word search as my manifesto was personal and to show its meaning I chose to put it in a woe search with my manifesto highlighted to read. We then pinned up all our work in a mini exhibition space and voted for whose was best and got feedback which was helpful. This workshop was helpful in working out what I want from my designs and what impact I want to have within a career, it’s made me think more about my purpose which was good to do and helpful for when we start our third term in a few weeks!

Pick, pack, sell:

As i was handing in my project i realised that i hadn't added my tags to the boxes. I ended up sticking with them being tags instead of stickers as this worked best without anything being too cramped! these tags are reversible with an illustration on one side and text about promoting the flour on the other side. I am happy with the way the tags are attached to the boxes, i used string so they stayed on in a secure way. I also like how the tags are hole punched and tied on as this seals the bag which was another element i was missing and struggling to sort out!

Case study:

Today, 04/03/24, we presented our case study presentations to everyone! i presented towards the end of the group and felt like what i presented was enough in depth and that i have good points in comparison to what i was saying on the slides! Overall my feedback was positive, they liked my overall presentation feel and they thought the information i had was good!

Case study:

Here i completed my last slide which was highlighting my aspirations for a career. Within my transcript notes i have mentioned what sort of career i would like and what steps i could take to achieve this, like through what i aspire to work too/ the quality i would like to achieve in my work when i am a graduate.

Case Study:

Here i completed my tenth slide of my presentation. This slide was a profile overview of their creative director Jonas Roth, he is underneath Nills Leonard, who is the chief creative director, I looked into his role at Uncommon as his work is influential on each project. I also discovered here that he had his own portfolio website promoting the work he's done throughout his career span which again i thought was very interesting.

Here i completed my ninth slide of my presentation. This slide was focusing in on the competition of Uncommon creative studios (my agency). i found 2 competitors who are working at a similar level, these included VCCP and Don't Panic.

Here i completed my fifth slide of my presentation. This slide was about the live feed aspect to their website, i thought this was important as it not only shows what they do but also the responses they are getting to their work in real time!

Design skills 3 - social media:

Today, 27/02/24, we had our third design skills workshop with Briony. Here we were taught about the importance of social media platforms and how businesses can advertise new products or a new event though this in different ways such as grid layouts on instagram, banners on LinkedIn, facebook and twitter and logos!

We were given some frames to use and some templates to add our designs too to save them as an instagram profile etc. This workshop was to build our posters that we had worked on the session before. We were guided to use these posters and turn them into social media posts, banners and logos that promote the same cause as before, which was the fashion for good museum!

This session was helpful in terms of showing us how to use social media to advertise events etc which was a platform i hadn't thought about too much in terms of promotion in the past but it was good to learn about this so we can use this in future projects.

We were given roughly 3 hours to work on the banner, logo and posts and then we all printed our outcomes and did a pin up of our work so we could all see what one another had done, which agin was useful as it give e ideas as to what i could have changed on mine if i were to do this again!
