Your best is what you can do without harming your mental and physical health, not what you can accomplish when you disregard it.

Hello everyone,
I thought I would talk about Asperger’s Syndrome, and why it isn’t used as an official diagnosis.
Once a long time ago, there was a man named Hans Asperger, (the man you see in the post,) who was born in the year of 1906. His career mainly focused on Autism, of what he called it “autistic psychopathy”, which as you can imagine, was very controversial at that time. These controversies continued even after his death. In the 2010’s, it was speculated that Hans Asperger sent children with Asperger’s to a Nazi German clinic…that was responsible for the deaths of disabled patients. Although this allegation is yet to be confirmed.
He continued his research during 1944, when he published his work about “autistic psychopathy”. Hans Asperger noticed that boys had “a lack of empathy, little ability to form friendships, one-sided conversations, intense absorption in a special interest, and clumsy movements”.
Hans Asperger was also involved with the Nazis. According to the scholar, Edith Sheffer, who wrote about Hans Asperger’s involvement in the Nazi Regime. This included sending children to the Am Spiegelgrund, a clinic that participated in the euthanasia program. Edith Sheffer ended up writing a book about this in 2018 called The Origins of Autism in Nazi Vienna.
I hope this has helped and educated you. :)
Please reblog this to spread awareness and information if you can.

Only gender critical TERFs would see a woman get a pixie cut and make snide comments like “oooh guess they’re trans now”. So much for “let women be non-gender-conforming!” 🤡

One of the weirdest thing about growing up suicidal is that you assume you have no future, you don’t even try to envision it because you see no point. So eventually, you start assuming everyone else sees nothing in your future either. Recently, my friend and I were talking and she said something about how at her wedding I could wear a suit or a dress as long as it matched her bridesmaid’s dresses because the butler of honor has to make a good impression. This hit me so hard because I had never realized before how other people thought about me. She said it so casually like it wasn’t even a hard decision, just a given fact. She loves me so much she saw me at her wedding, standing with her on one of the most important days of her life. And you know what? There are so many people who think about you that way. If that isn’t proof that you should keep going I don’t know what is.

I want everyone to know that there are queers in the hollers of Appalachia, in the bayous and marshland of the Deep South, in Southwestern deserts, through the Ozark mountains and up to the Rockies. There are queers in the Great Plains, there are queers in rural America, in trailer parks of the Osage foothills. In the places you least expect us to live, we are here, carving out community and fighting for liberation with pride despite it all. Stop forgetting about us. Stop overlooking our experiences and our impact just because we don’t live in a Big Gay City. And for the love of God, stop looking at us with pity.
