Queerplatonic book recs, that actually have QPRs, inspired by me seeing someone listing qpr books that were literally just queer people being friends 🤦‍♀️

These all have the main characters in queerplatonic relationships,  explicitly and/or unambiguously in most cases.

(it's gay [WLW], it's enemies to lovers, its dark and twisty and will make you laugh till you might explode and then ugly sob a page later. It's also part of a series, there the last book coming out next year. The tag line of this book is literally "Lesbian Necromancers explore a haunted castle in space" and I dont know what else anyone could want)

Six of Crows- Leigh Bardugo

(Big Fandom, Dark and Twisty, gay slowburn side characters but the main relations are sooooo worth it, got that tv show coming out, has an enemies to lovers couple but they aren't gay)

The Wicker King- K. Ancrum

(Bi POC MC, friends to Lovers, dark and Twisty, so beautiful written it makes my heart hurt, one of my All Time Faves)

If We Were Villains- M. L. Rio

(another mlm friends to lovers trope, dark and twisty murder mystery, how far would you go for the person you love? Very slowburn. Shakespeare themed!!! The ending will make you scream for multiple reasons)

The Raven Cycle- Maggie Steifvater

(not very dark or twisty but also still is at the same time? I find a lot of people who like AFTG like this series? Another mlm pairing very slowburn takes 4 books and then another series spin off)

(enemies to lovers, dark and twisty, three books, kinda spicy)

Bloodraven- P. L. Nunn

(enemies to lovers in a fantasy setting, Orc li, kind of political about orc v human things)

(Not dark or enemies to lovers but it is about sports and being gay so theres that I felt it needed to be mentioned)
