Reflection
This is the last reflection before our graduation. I have to say that it has been a tough and interesting journey. I always found this reflection a great opportunity to express myself with honesty. Since I started this master, I thought it was a huge mistake. Class after class, challenge after challenge I asked myself, why are you here?, this is not what you wan to do. So I had to stop and open myself to learn new things. I change my negative attitude to curiosity. During this time I discover that I have good ideas and i just need to push myself out of my comfort zone, explore all the options and just create. I do believe that perfection comes with practice, no one started being a master but with time, patience and perseverance, everything is possible. I am an American but “new” to this Country, language and culture. It’s not easy being a ESL student, to follow up discussions and critics to your peers are the worst nightmare. With a Full time job, a promotion to another department, more responsabilities and the lost of one of my family rocks, my grandfather. I thought I was going to fail, I struggle to survive each month, trying to do my best to overcome all the obstacle, because let’s face it, the business it’s brutal. I think this whole experience made my stronger and hungry for more and also, I have to pay this huge loan. I have never been more sure of the things I want to do in this industry. I might not remember all the concepts that we learn right now, but I have found myself looking around, analyzing marketing campaigns, logos, flyers, etc. I have to thank all of the instructors who had been patience with and for sharing their knowledge, to my peers for inspiration and Lynda.com for all the long trainings. Thank you! Yau

Here some of the images from the final static presentation. One of my favorites is the inspirational because it has some great elements that I would consider for the interior design.

Here are some images of the process, trying to find the right choice of animations and images for the final presentation. I created so many elements but at the end didn’t use some because I wanted to have a unified concept more than great animations.

This is the final video for my dynamic presentation. As I mention in my Reflection I think I found a balance between animation and real crispy powerful images. Hope you like it.

Reflection
As always another challenging month. Gathering all the concepts and kwnoledge through the year and apply it to the brand that we chose to develop.
I took a LOA two months ago so I was a little rusty with the concepts and all, but I was sure of one thing my mood and tone for the 500Cal. brand
I wanted to present a high energy, positive and fresh look. With vivid crisp images of fresh healthy food. I think I was able to deliver that. Now that part seems to me it was the easiest part, but the logo is a big down for me. Well being honest, i didn't have the feedback or support back in the month when we had to create the logo and that is the truth. At the end is all good, I understand that this is just an academic environment and in reality is a team effort to create the best for the clients needs. I stand by my point, I don't do logos.
With the static presentation, which in my case was a book, as establish from previous month it had to be. I divided the assets in a few chapters, research, design elements, media design and architecture and interior design. It was a very visual book. Because of time I was not able to recreate one of the assets and fail to present an accurate representation for the logo clear space. After the feedback I understood what I did and learn from it.
For the last two weeks creating a video to represent the brand was interesting. For one week I had no idea what to do, or what I really wanted to present. It was a tough choice because I had so many images and videos to present but I needed to create a balance between the information, the assets and the images.
In my opinion I think I got it. I used a fresh white/ light grey background to keep that fresh look that my brand stands for. I blended some static images with slow motion action shots. I tried to use more key words that complete sentences because of the fast pace of the piece. You want people to read but you want some key words to stick.I used hierarchy as a tool for that as well. I think I have a balance between realistic and animation shots trough the whole project.
This month I learn that is important to learn how to go more deep in your feedback, which I know how to do it but in Spanish. Being aware of the little things like clear space especially when you are using the Logo because that space is untouchable. So here is my reflection for this month. I wish I had done more. I wish I had my heart more into the project, but 5 weeks ago I lost my grandfather and I lost all my energy. So I hope for better times and new ideas. Until next time

After listening to the feedback I decided to change my previous cover image, something more clean and simple. I think is way to simple and I should have add the slug line “We count them for you”. The images above are part of that fresh vibrant feel and look.

Trying to unify the idea with a master page with a thin line. Also in the personas I added a quote to join the image and the information.

Vertical lines provide a feeling of spirituality and being connected with your inner self is a powerful way you will be inspired to be a better you. In this case by taking healthier eating habits. Also the vertical lines are similar to the fork and to the eye you look more slimmer. The diagonal lines are for movement and is a great message to inspire the clients to set goals, workout and move.
