The whole transandrophobia/transmisandry fight is so cyclical. People will be like “it’s not misandry trans men face, cause misandry isn’t real. If anything what you experience is misogyny.” Ohhhh so it’s an intersection of transphobia and misogyny? Is there a word for that? And then people race to say “no no no that’s not what I meant. Trans men don’t face transmisogyny.” Why? Either they do and you don’t wanna let them use that word because reasons, or they DONT and need to come up with a new word to describe their unique experiences……which they did…

I guess seeing the future is good sometimes.
[Image Description: Digital artwork of Tally Craven from Motherland Fort Salem. She is sitting in a field of wildflowers, wearing a blue dress, with her hands folded atop her pregnant belly. A little distance away is a little redheaded girl picking flowers. Tally watches her with a smile, and a speech bubble near her head reads, "It will all be okay in the end." /end ID]

Aerti Week - Day 3: appetence: an eager desire, an instinctive inclination; an attraction or natural bond
This definitely left the realm of sketch at some point but I’m cool with that.
[Image Description: A digital painting of Aeris and Tifa against a white background. Aeris is visible only from about her shoulders to her knees. She is walking away from the viewer into the light, but turned slightly back to hold out her right hand to Tifa. Only Tifa’s left arm is in the frame, wearing her Remake armor, and she is reaching forward to take Aeris’s hand. /end ID]

Some SephZack for @dyradoodles!
[Image Description: A greyscale digital sketch of Zack Fair and Sephiroth, shown from the thighs up in their OG uniforms. They stand holding hands, and Sephiroth is leaning down slightly as Zack kisses him on the cheek. Both have their eyes closed and wear faint smiles. /end ID]

Frankly sometimes fics that are incomplete and haven't been updated since 2012 are just worth the read anyway. The story may never have a conclusion, but I have found abandoned works with concepts that no one else is writing. What's there can be incredibly well-executed, emotionally affecting, and inspiring.
So, I don't know, if everything else about the tags and description appeals to you, maybe consider clicking on it knowing full well the work will never be completed.
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.
I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.
The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.
Anyways, support your favorite fanfic writers by engaging with their WIPs.

Bringing back the tradition of drawing shippy fluff on my birthday.
[Image Description: Digital fanart of Sephiroth and Zack Fair, depicted from the chest up. Zack stands with his back against a wall in the Shinra building, lips parted, staring in surprise at Sephiroth. Sephiroth has his left hand planted against the wall above Zack’s head and his right hand against Zack’s pauldron, and he is leaning in, close to kissing him. His face is mostly obscured by his hair. /end ID]

Pros of re-reading your own fic
a good time;
Has exactly the tropes you like and the characterization you want to read;
Gratification: yes you did finish a thing and yes you did do good;
just a very fun time all around.
Cons of re-reading your own fic:
Is that another TYpO

We're now just 2 weeks out from Romancing Barret Week - will we score another bingo this year?
We don't expect anyone to get a bingo on their own (although kudos if you do!), but we're excited to see everyone's creations and the variety of ship dynamics!

I wanted to try putting together some queer couples in this style...
Stickers available in my Etsy shop, and prints via Inprnt!
[Image Description: A set of six flat-color drawings in a simple style. From left to right, top to bottom: 1, against the trans flag: a thin white person with a blue undercut holding a fat black woman bridal style. The black woman wears a pink flannel over a red shirt and jean shorts and red sneakers.
2, against the pan flag: a thin black man in a wheelchair with hot pink accents, his clothes in the corresponding purple and blue of the bi flag. Beside him walks a thin black woman in a white dress holding a rainbow umbrella.
3, against the gay man flag: two South Asian men in salwar kameez stand holding hands with their foreheads touching. The one on the left is wearing trans colors.
4, against the lesbian flag: a chubby South Asian woman with long dark hair and glasses sits embracing a petite East Asian woman with short hair. Together their outfits comprise the colors of the flag.
5, against the polyamorous flag: a chubby freckled Latina woman with long wavy hair and a skinny white person with a shaved head, tattoos, and a prosthetic leg stand embracing a hijabi woman between them. The two on the outside have outfits with the colors of the aroace flag, while the hijabi woman wears aromantic colors.
6, against the nonbinary flag: a fat white person with a grey beard and ponytail, using a forearm crutch, and a mid-size black man with long greying hair who is gently touching his partner's face. The black man wears ace colors, while the white person wears nonbinary ones. /end ID]

Bi/Pan solidarity.
[Image Description: Digital fanart of Cloud Strife, Zack Fair, Aeris Gainsborough, and Tifa Lockhart, walking in a line towards the camera. Zack wears a black tank top with flowers in pansexual pride colors over light blue jeans and flip-flops, while Aeris wears a halter top dress in bisexual pride colors and brown sandals. Cloud wears a plain black T-shirt over jean capris and black sneackers, while Tifa is dressed in a white cropped tank top, black shorts, and red sneakers.
Zack and Aeris are in the middle with their arms looped around each other, but turned away from each other. Zack leans down to kiss Cloud, his other hand cupping the back of Cloud’s head. Aeris pulls Tifa in for a kiss by one of her suspenders. /end ID]

Apparently there was some kind of race scheduled at a local park or something so I've been trying to avoid the main trail but a little while ago when I had to cross near it I overheard the following shouted exchange
Higher feminine voice: woo, look at you go! You're jogging! Keep it up!
Lower masculine voice (panting): you know it! Last place is still a place, baby!
And goddamn if that didn't rewire my brain a little bit.
Last place is still a place, baby.
