of course i love tropes and cliches. of course i love predictable character dichotomy. i see a big scary stoic man covered in blood with the eyes of a predator only to discover he has a gooey heart of devotion and unwavering loyalty to maybe 3 people total who know his tragic backstory and you expect me not to fall head over heels? you think me a fool? well i am and will continue to be.

Just wanted to let everyone know I haven't left tumblr, I'm just on hiatus.

Hello everyone! This is a survey brought to you by Self Advocates United as 1. They're a nonprofit organization I'm involved with whose mission is to inform and empower people with autism and/or intellectual disabilities (id). We encourage everyone, not just people with disabilities to come check us out at sau1.org.

I'm sorry for the sales pitch, I try not to do that sort of thing here, but the truth is, we haven't had a lot of attendance to our events, due to a lack of people knowing about us. We do only operate in Pennsylvania, but our information is good for anyone! As a nonprofit, we depend on government funding, but our funders won't give us money if we don't have the attendance. In short, my job could very possibly be on the line.

Since I know so many of you have autism, I would really appreciate you filling out this survey or even just sharing it. If you know someone who could benefit from us (or even organizations like us!) please direct them to our website.

In no particular order...

1. Yu Yu Hakusho

While I came into this anime late, I would say it has changed my life. There’s so much to it that is absolutely wonderful and I can’t recommend it enough!

2. Princess Tutu

This show was a trip and a half. I first found out about it from a really cool amv that was shown at a convention. It’s weird in the most wonderful way and you should totally check it out.

3. Fairy Tail

Unfortunately, I never was able to finish watching, but I intend to. This anime was honestly such an inspiration to me in a dark point of my life.

4. Ouran High School Host Club

Like with all the other shows I’ve listed, there’s simply too many good things to say about this one. Honestly, I found it very gender affirming before I even knew that I was genderfluid.

I could keep listing anime forever, so the fifth one is just a regular show

5. Ghosts

This show is so much fun. That’s really all I’m going to say about it.

instruments: My top three faves are piano, violin, and cello, though I have a special place in my heart for the hurdygurdy. I played clarinet for two years in school, piano for about five years before I had to stop due to living circumstances, and have messed around with the ocarina.

aesthetic: Everything, lol. No, but seriously, it’s like the song The Traveler’s Curse by Abney Park. Essentially there’s so many different things that feel right, I couldn’t even begin to list them all. It would be easier to tell you what isn’t my aesthetic.

hello everyone and happy early pride!! 🌈

this is a project i actually worked on last year but posted it very late into june so i dont think it made the rounds i was hoping… so im starting it out a bit earlier this year 

i’m a sucker for pride flag sticker/etc. designs and i decided to create some of my own - they are subtle enough to be safe for anyone who maybe can’t normally buy pride stuff, but still recognizable within the community (hopefully lmao) 

then, of course i wanted to combine them all into one big piece that would still be subtle - i was inspired by those vintage butterfly species posters and wanted to recreate a version of that with my pride butterflies! the labels underneath each butterfly are short descriptions of what each flag represents, to also help keep things under the radar. super special thanks to @yourlocaltrylingual for helping me with the french translations <3333

all of the individual butterflies can be found on my redbubble, as well as the main poster! they all have nondescript names for safe ordering <3

Did you know that the supports and services for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism are in danger of losing funding? $170 Million was removed from the draft budget. WE NEED FUNDING so people have the support they need to be part of their communities. WE NEED FUNDING so family members won’t have to quit their jobs to support their loved one. WE NEED FUNDING so people with disabilities can get or keep a job and become taxpayers themselves. WE NEED FUNDING for the thousands of people who are waiting for services. Are these things important to you? They are to us! We all need to use our right to speak up with our government! And we need to do it right away! How should you speak up? Call Governor Shapiro’s office at 717-787-2500 or go to https://www.governor.pa.gov/contact/ and fill out the contact form. Ask your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, everyone you know to call. Here’s an idea of what you might say: Hi, my name is (tell them your name). (you may also tell them, if you want, if you are a person with disabilities, a family member or caregiver, a friend, or someone else) I learned from Self Advocates United as 1 that there may be a lot of money removed from the ID-community Waiver budget. We have a right to funding so people have the support they need to be part of their communities. We have a right to funding so family members won’t have to quit their jobs to support their loved one. We have a right to funding so people with disabilities can get or keep a job and become taxpayers themselves. We have a right to funding for the thousands of people who are waiting for services. Please put back the 170 million dollars in the Intellectual Disabilities-Community Waiver line.

You don’t own fanfics. They’re inherently public domain because they aren’t your IP. Agree or disagree with AI, there are no grounds for “protection” from AI because it isn’t your IP to begin with. That’s what you chose when you chose this medium

Okay, you get an answer, because at least you took the effort to write your ask out properly, even if you are hiding behind the grey, sunglassed circle.

Do I, or any fanfic author for that matter, have any legal claims to our work? No, not really, no. (Although if someone took a fic, filed off the serial number--deleted the fandom specific elements--, and then had it published for financial gain, yeah, that would be a case.)

BUT

Fandoms are built on a social contract that says we respect each others work, the effort people put into their art. We don't steal or disrespect the work of our peers. By feeding people's fanworks to AI you both steal and disprect it, and we need to make people realize that before it's too late--before fandom falls apart, because there will be no more real, actual fanworks.
