cyclists do not want to be on the sidewalk. sidewalks are a terrible place to ride a bike, especially when there are benches, signs, curb cuts, and pedestrians to avoid.

a cyclist who is riding on a sidewalk is doing it because he or she doesn't want to be killed by a car in the street.

Sometimes I feel old and out of touch because I don't know anything about the hot new music but then I remember even when I was a teenager I did not know the hot new music because I was an uncool little nerd and my family didn't listen to the radio. So my out of touchness is consistent and not age related.

The data really do exist to support the assertion and /r/fuckcars won't shut up about it! [1] [2] [3]

There probably is ~zero data supporting the assertion that huge pickups like F150 are disproportionately more dangerous than regular-sized cars. We can infer that because if such data existed, the /r/fuckcars crowd wouldn't shut up about it. They rely on suggestions, vibes and FUD instead, so it doesn't.

(I don't even like the American car gigantomania! But, you know, one should have good epistemics)
