يا ليتَ قلبي أن يعيشَ وحيدًا

بلا ذِكرى ولا حُزنٍ ولا فرَحْ

ولكنَّهُ ينبضُ لأجلِ شيءٍ

لا يعرفُ معنى لهُ الكتابْ

يا ليتَ عيني تنسى ما شاهدَتْ

وتغفرَ ماضيًا من الأخطاءِ والجراحْ

ولكنَّها تحملُ ذِكرى الأمسِ

تأسرُني وتسرقُ مني النومَ والراحْ

يا ليتَ يدي تنسى ما أمسَكَتْ

وتغسلَ عنها أثرَ الخطيئةِ والذنبْ

ولكنَّها ترتعدُ مِن فرحٍ

وترسمُ في خيالي رؤىً وأحلامًا وأملْ

فأينَ الحلولُ وأين النهايةُ

هل تجديدُ النفسِ هو الخلاصُ والراحةْ؟

فليتَ الله يشفي كلًّا

يعاني مِن الحزنِ والألمِ والفرحَ والرضاحْ.

FADE IN:

EXT. A QUIET SUBURBAN STREET - NIGHT

JASON, sits in his car parked in front of his former lover's house. He listens to "Por una cabeza" on the radio and stares at the house with a pained expression.

FLASHBACK TO:

INT. A ROMANTIC RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Jason and his lover, SOPHIA, sit across from each other at a candlelit table. They clink their glasses and laugh.

BACK TO PRESENT:

Jason takes a deep breath and turns off the radio. He gets out of the car and walks towards the door. He knocks and waits.

The door opens and Sophia's new partner, ALEX, greets him with a smile.

ALEX

Hey man, what's up?

JASON

(smiling)

Not much, just thought I'd stop by and see how you guys are doing.

ALEX

Come on in, we were just about to have dinner.

Jason steps inside and follows Alex to the dining room where Sophia sits at the table.

Sophia looks up and her eyes meet Jason's. They exchange a long, lingering glance before Jason looks away.

ALEX

So what brings you here tonight?

JASON

(pauses)

Actually, I wanted to talk to you both about something.

Sophia and Alex exchange a curious look.

JASON

(sighs)

I've decided to join the military. Our country, Arlandia, is being threatened by its allies and it's only a matter of time before war breaks out. I want to do my part.

Sophia's eyes widen and Alex looks impressed.

ALEX

That's a big decision, man. Are you sure you're ready for that?

JASON

(nods)

I am. It's time to start thinking about something bigger than myself.

Sophia's gaze drops to the table and Jason can see the pain in her eyes.

JASON

(smiling)

But enough about me. Alex, I have something for you.

Alex looks at Jason, confused.

JASON

(reaches into his pocket)

I heard about a new gadget that's being developed by the military. It's a game-changer, man. I think you'd be perfect for the program.

Alex's face lights up and he takes the gadget from Jason.

ALEX

Wow, thanks man. This is amazing.

Jason nods and turns to leave. Sophia stands up and follows him to the door.

SOPHIA

(whispers)

Good luck, Jason. Be safe.

JASON

(smiling)

I will. Take care of yourself.

Sophia watches as Jason walks out the door, his silhouette disappearing into the darkness.

FADE OUT.
