Clary was standing in front of him, arms crossed and a worried look splashed across her face. “You’ve been waking up breathless, sweaty, and looking like you’ve seen a ghost. Every night. Don’t lie to me.” She narrowed her eyes just a bit and furrowed her eyebrows. “Jace.. Talk to me.” She sighed, relinquishing her crossed arms to fall down to her sides. 

         “I’ve been sleeping well,” Jace says, it’s a lie - but Clary doesn’t need to know that. He doesn’t want to burden her with his problems. They were just stupid nightmares anyway, nothing he can’t handle. Growing up having them - and for the most part, not having anyone to tell him it’s alright. So, he was alright - at least he tells himself. “Why’d you ask?”

She looked down at Damon, arms crossed and her eyebrows furrowed; an expression that’s always associated whenever talking to him, it seemed. “You know the answer to that already, Damon. You mean a lot to me, and I care about you so much.” She reached down a hand at him trying to get him to stand up. “Can you get up, please?” Elena sighed. 

"I'm not leaving you alone. Not now, not ever." (Elena and whichever brother)

Damon looked from the wet muddy ground he was currently entrenched in up to Elena. “Why? What am I worth to you, Elena? I’m not Stefan.” He flopped his head back onto the ground and stared up at the raining sky. It was dark, almost black, as the thunderstorm continued its path unabated and unfeeling. Perhaps he should be a thunderous storm, without worry or care, going along as intended. Then at least he would be spared the torments of vampirism.
