“No please, after you,” Anthony said, gesturing the stranger ahead of him with a smirk. “I can’t let someone as stunning as you get caught in the rain.”

“Oh look... there I thought I would be the only charmer here on the island,” chad chuckled as he slipped through the door and into the coffee shop. “What is your name, gorgeous?”

“I mean, are you really shocked on the Evie and Mal thing?” Jay would have been acting in a similar way towards him if they weren’t on a sports team together–his friends were the most important people in his life, and he had wronged Evie. “And Ginny’s grumpy in general, it’s just her brand. Dizzy’s sweet, if you run into her. Her cousin Anthony? Not as much.”

“I know.... I know,” he sighed and raised both his hands in defence. “Pulled really up some bullshit back home, and that for the most selfish reasons ever. But hey, I am working on me. Sure, old habits are hard to break with. But I am doing my best.” Sure, he could easily talk. But Chad meant it. He really wanted to do better this time.

Was she an Auradon girl? Chad could not recall he had seen her there, and that with him thinking he would know everyone at the school. Especially the pretty girls. “Maybe,” she mused while giving her a small nod. “My name is Chad. Chad Charming, at your service.”

His eyes sparkled when he gave Ella a nod. “That is what people often tell me, at least. And it fits, seeing my father is the great Prince Charming himself. So I sort of have to hold up the good reputation, so to say.”

“Yeah, well, take away all of the weird stress of Auradon and leave two idiots to their own devices…shit gets worked out,” he chuckled. Being outside of Auradon had forced Jay to re-evaluate his priorities and what he wanted. It had been good for him. “Yeah. Lucky is definitely the word I would use. Have you run into any of the other isle kids? Other than like, Evie, Mal, or Carlos, I mean.”

“Again, that is cool. As weird as this palce is, maybe for some of us it means some sort of second chance....” He shrugged and nodded. Those were actually very meaningful words for someone like Chad Charming. But, he was determined to grow and change as well. “Sorta? Met Mal and Evie who are still sort of pissed at me. And Ginny. And Pixie. And what a surprise, so far Pixie is the only one not wanting to kick my ass.”

“It is nice to meet you then, Ella.” And, since he was a Charming, he gently took her hand to blow a kiss onto the skin. “My name is Chad, and it will be indeed a pleasure to spend the day with you.”
