a few years back, a Disney exec’s assistant (their title was a bit longer than that but anyway) told me that A. their job was to promote crap tv no matter how homophobic and B. they created fake accounts to promote whatever crap Disney wanted them to and in creating those accounts on twitter or tumblr or wherever, they were part of flooding tags with promo so that the critiques were drowned out and C. I should ‘calm down’ because Disney and other big media could only do so much and things would progress when it was time. hahahahahahahahaha. anyway, things ‘progress’ when we fight for representation. 

(yes this is a rant about cory and bradley bc it’s a gross development and I’m so glad this show isn’t back for at least a year if ever)

anybody who ships cory w bradley clearly doesn’t know how violent outing is. and also, when your boss says he loves you, and follows you around, and outs you and your partner to the public, that’s called sexual harassment. which is what this show is supposedly about?

so the writers figured out that if you spark a ‘shipping war’ (ie pit a m/f couple against a f/f couple) you get the incel crowd (homophobes screaming about not being homophobic) and those who are desperate for representation in a world that erases them. slow clap it out. cory is bradley’s boss and the Morning Show is about sexual harassment in the workplace but hahahaha so cute. 

(honestly, the show hasn’t been that bad. Hal is awful and abusive bc yes threatening to harm yourself if someone doesn’t do xyz is abusive, and making Bradley completely messed up trying to save him is a disservice but whatever)

The Morning Show WTF

Ok so let me get some things straight...

Alex woke up in Mitch’s bed after being blackout drunk. That. is. not. con.SENT. that is not an ‘affair’, that is a sexual assault. Trauma survivors often do things that are about shock and confusion and being frozen, so the second possibly consensual encounter does make sense in that context. BUT WHY ARE THE WRITERS TRYING TO BACK PEDDAL AND MAKE THE WHOLE ‘AFFAIR’ THING ON ALEX? What the hell show am I watching?

Cory outed Laura/Bradley but there’s a whole shipping thing behind them and none of us will be surprised if the BOSS gets together with his EMPLOYEE (ok isn’t that the point of this show that that’s NOT OK) because awwww cute awwwww. like. what am I doing watching this show if that happens on top of the first issue? isn’t this show about toxic s*** and MeToo?????? 

Who tf cares about Mitch. why did all of that nonsense happen. why did they sanitize him?

Why is Reese doing media about how Laura tries to push Bradley into a box. Like. what. is telling someone who is deeply codependent that therapy is a good idea ‘molding’ that person? 

this had all better be some red herring s*** in time for a finale that rips off all these gross, pussy bandaids.

this is what I think also. bc her politics make zero sense otherwise and bc they keep eluding to the real depths of what Mitch did and what he’s denying. he. had. sex. with. an. unconscious. woman. that. is. assault. sorry to all those respectable writers over on twitter who argue that it’s ‘unclear’, it actually is pretty clear. and Alex’s behaviour is actually really typical of a trauma survivor. so all the Mitch is great, Alex is evil stuff is really bc the writers are (hopefully) building to something bigger and some of the viewers aren’t getting it. 

Re: Mitch and Paola in The Morning Show

I think the show is heading to Paola actually playing him and betraying him. I think the discussion in the street when she defended him was staged, and she was in agreement with the other women. Classical spy move: she earns his trust, and now, after doing so, they made this interview for "practice", and for me it is clear she is going to make it public to further ruin his reputation and outing him as a psychopath. What do you think?
