Since Cabuyao is a nearby town of Calamba, only few resorts are available here. Most of the cabuyenos tend to just go to Calamba and enjoy the resorts there, but I have one resort here in Cabuyao that I can recommend. It is the Queen Aurora’s Garden Resort. It is located at Purok 3 Marinig, Cabuyao, Laguna. What special about here is that guests are able to see the beautiful scenery of Laguna bay and they can also relax since this is a peaceful place.
The resort is open 24/7 and they have a lot to offer. They have two swimming pools (one for kids and one for adults) that you can enjoy for only 100 pesos entrance fee when day swimming and 150 pesos when night swimming. To those who don’t have plans on staying overnight, they have cottages that 10-15 persons can fit and you can rent this for only 1,000 pesos. They also offer accommodations for the guest/s who are planning to stay at the resort. The prices range from 2,000 pesos to 17,000 pesos depending on what type of room they will choose. If a place or a venue for a party or an event is what you are looking for they also offer different types of venue and the prices range from 15,000 pesos to 35,000 pesos.

Traveling is a very fun and exciting thing to do. You can meet new people, experience their culture and see beautiful places but the best part of the trip is the food. One restaurant I can recommend that you can found in Cabuyao is Tuding's Original Pork Chop.
Tuding's Original Pork Chop is one of the most popular pork chop restaurants in Laguna, they are known for their special porksilog that is affordable and delicious. They started their business first at Binan in 1895 and now they have 15 branches all over the towns of Laguna and in some parts of Metro Manila.
One of their branches is here in Cabuyao that can be found at #062 Don Onofre Bldg III, Rosario Village, Brgy Sala, Cabuyao, Laguna beside the town’s City Hall. This branch was established in 2000 and managed by the niece of the owner. The restaurant opens at 8:30 in the morning and closes at 9:00 in the evening. Their porksilog cost 68 pesos when you dine in and just add 10 pesos when you take out (maybe because of the container).
You can try to make your own Tuding’s porksilog by just watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWGcIIggI4s and follow the steps on how to do it yourself.
Credits to KMJS for the video.

“You don't need a silver fork to eat good food.”
When visiting San Pablo City, Laguna there is a Sulyap Gallery Cafe & Restaurant located at barangay Del Remedio, Cocoland Compound, San Pablo City, Laguna. It is a rustic restaurant that offers guests a memorable dining and lodging experience.
Set in a two-hectare lot in the City of Seven Lakes, Sulyap Gallery Cafe, Boutique Hotels and Restaurant reimagines the Filipino cultural heritage through traditional Filipino Cuisine and historical Antillan architectures.
Sulyap is a Filipino word that means "to take a peak or quick look". Like what its name proposes, Sulyap Gallery Cafe and Restaurant offers guests to take a peak at how life was during the Spanish colonial period.
There are three interesting things when visiting this Cafe & Restaurant. First is their food, Sulyap Gallery Cafe and Restaurant serves traditional Filipino cuisine, mostly dishes that are native to San Pablo City, Laguna, like pinayti (finely chopped micro shrimps in coconut milk) and kulawong talong (grilled eggplant in smoked flavor coconut milk, cooked in fire brick stove topped with sliced grilled pork belly). Second is the lodging experience and lastly are the museum displays.
From the start, the gallery exterior looks more like a spooky house than a historical center yet once you enter it, you'd wonder about the huge collection of antiques that the owner collected. Some of which might probably be more than a hundred years old.
Inside the compound there are restaurant, an art gallery museum, a swimming pool, and five casas. As Sulyap is also a bed and breakfast, it is known for its colonial era hotel architectures. Four of its five restored casa are perfect for an overnight stay for travelers and tourists. Casa Obando, Casa Alitagtag, Casa Del Remedio, and a portion of Casa San Juan will give you a glimpse of the past with its classical design of capiz shell windows, hardwood flooring, wooden furnitures, among many others. The casas were actually several decades to century old houses bought by the owners of Sulyap, which were then dismantled, transplanted and rebuilt on the property.
The gallery cafe and restaurant, nested in two of the five restored casa in Sulyap – Casa San Juan and Casa Cabay, has been awarded as the best and cleanest restaurant in Laguna for two consecutive years now. Hotel guests can also enjoy a cool dip in Sulyap’s swimming pool situated at the end of the lot’s vibrant garden.
Meanwhile, just across the cafe and restaurant is the elegant Sulyap Museum. The museum, which is divided in four sections, houses hundreds of antique collections from wooden furnitures, ceramics, to religious artifacts. A tour inside the museum guarantees a full glimpse of a lived experience during the colonial era through the antique objects displayed all throughout the museum building.
The biggest structure in the Sulyap compound used to be the building for Cocoland Hotel and prior to that, it was the Southern Luzon Colleges building. It now houses Sulyap’s function hall, which can be booked for private events, and art gallery that showcases the owners’ massive collection of antiques.
I hope that if you visit the beautiful city of San Pablo, that can stop by even for a day trip at Sulyap Café. Taste of the past is a taste like no other.
Museum opens at 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Viewing rates:
Adults: 100 pax
Children: P100 pax for 12 years old and above and P50 for those who are 11 years old and younger.

San Pablo City, Laguna is known for its Seven Lakes but did you know that there’s also a place that tourists never missed to visit? L
Aside from Seven Lakes the heart of San Pablo City is the Cathedral Parish of Saint Paul the First Hermit, also known as the San Pablo Cathedral. Its titular is St. Paul the First Hermit and its feast is celebrated every January 15. This heritage has been throughout the City’s history.
The official name of the area was changed to San Pablo de los Montes in 1586, in honor of St. Paul the First Hermit the parish became independent on that year and it is the first church that is made of wood and it was manipulated under the auspices of Augustinian Father Mateo Mendoza. This building was started in 1714 and completed in 1721 by Father Francisco Juan de Elorreaga, OSA. On April 4, 1794 the parish of San Pablo was administered by the Franciscans with Father Andres Cabrera, OFM as parish priest.
From 1912 to 1939 the convent housed the Minor Seminary of St. Francis of Sales of the Congregation of the Mission that is also known as Padre Paules. The convent was heavily damaged during the liberation of the Philippines in 1945. The church was rebuilt from 1948 to 1954 with the help of the parishioners under the supervision of Fathers Juan Coronel and Nicomedes Rosal. The parish church of San Pablo became a cathedral with the establishment of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Pablo by the Apostolic Letter Ecclesianum Perempla on November 28, 1966. On April 18, 1967 it was canonically erected, with Bishop Pedro N. Bantigue installed as the first bishop of San Pablo.
The San Pablo Cathedral was renovated about 2 years ago at about the same time as the Catholic Church's Jubilee Year but now that it’s done, it is now a very beautiful church and a great place to be close to God.
We come to church not to hide our problems but heal them. Visiting different different churches let us to be close to God. It can also promotes individual growth because it enables one to reflect back on their own actions and thoughts.

The only Roman Catholic Church established in the town of Bay in Laguna is the Saint Augustine Parish Church or most commonly known as Simbahan at Parokya ni San Agustin. This church was historically founded by the Augustinian friars in 1571 and later on transferred to the Franciscans. It is constructed and built using light materials such as bamboo and nipa by the first missionaries in Laguna, the Augustinian friars of Provincia del Santisimo Nombre de Jesus. It was first built along the Shore of Laguna Lake, under the great supervision of Fray Martin de Rada and the patronage of the order of St. Augustine. It became a parish on the latter time in the 30th April in the year 1578.  The church’s structure and designed is considered as a Colonial Baroque. Its former name is Iglesia y Convento de Bay. Its current parish priest is  Fr. Licerio S. Taguilaso.
You can solemnly pray in this church, so make sure to stop-over before you go to somewhere else.
The Church is open everyday.

If you visit Laguna make sure to stop by the city of Cabuyao. There is a must-visit historical church here. It is the St. Polycarp Parish. The church is located at Poblacion Uno, Cabuyao, Laguna beside the city’s plaza.
The Order of Missionaries of the Augustinian-Recollects is the first group of friars who first arrived at the town of Tabuko (Cabuyao). Their objective was to propagate Christianity in the town. They have decided to build the worship place first at Brgy. Marinig for the easy access to Laguna Bay but it is not successful due to frequent flooding. So they decided to move the church to higher ground which is in Poblacion Uno. They started the construction of the permanent church at Poblacion Uno in 1763 and finished it in 1771. The church was dedicated to St. Polycarp who is a bishop, martyr and titular head of the Catholic Church in whole Asia.
The church also was a silent witness of the bloody battle between the group of Filipino peasants called Sakdalista and the constabulary on May 3, 1935. Unfortunately, around 56 members of Sakdalista are killed.
During the Japanese occupation, the church serves as the shelter for wounded soldiers. And when the Americans arrive in 1945, they stay at the patio area of the church while they rebuilding the entire town. After all the war, the church gives birth to its new church organizations and physical renovations.
St. Polycarp Parish witness a lot of historical events, most of them are tragic but it remains a sacred place to the Cabuyenos.
