Everyone from designer to a fast fashion retailer are carrying a platform boot. Today I’ll be showing you different ways people are styling their boots. 

The Little Black Dress

Here is model Elsa Hosk wearing Prada boots with a tight dress with black transparent tights and a coat. This outfit is really simple and can be recreated easily with your favorite black dress and some black tights and a coat. Just the finishing touch would be the chunky boots of your choice. 

The Midi Skirt Look

Here’s a more spring look found on the streets of a fashion week. This individual is wearing a more affordable platform boot compared to the Prada. She is wearing the platform Doc Martens with a mid length skirt, and a black long sleeve tied at her waist. Throwing on a mid length skirt and a top that is oversized to where you can tied it in a knot in the front would give you this chic look. 

The Casual Blazer Look

Here’s another street style look that is easy to recreate. This is more a casual look that can be recreated with a straight leg pair of jeans and an oversized blazer. This is a good look to recreate for colder days or for a night time look. 

The Crop Top and Wideleg Pant Look

Workwear is no longer only for work

Workwear has a reputation for always been dependable within the workforce with its durability and ruggedness but now we see people wearing workwear not only for work but for fashion! 

Here we see someone wearing a jumpsuit which is usually made for those who are working custodial jobs but it is seen here being worn on a casual basis. The brand dickies is becoming extremely popular in the fashion world for its durability, usefulness, and affordability.

For example, the brand Carhartt, who is known for their dependable work clothing is now dipping their feet into the fashion world creating different fashion pieces for the consumers who like the efficiency of workwear but crave a more stylistic approach. Another example is Carhartt collaborating with Junta Watanabe, a designer, for a collection using Carhartt’s help.

As seen in the photo above, Junta Watanabe created a collection using a Carhartt work jacket silhouette and added his own designer detailing to the garments. This shows that workwear is truly mixing together into the fashion world. You can see very clearing that workwear is trending when several celebrities are spotted wearing workwear for fashion statements.

As seen above, Tyler The Creator, a musician, is seen wearing hunting camo pants. These pants were designed for hunters who want to blend in to their surrounding in order to be able to hunt animals. For Tyler the Creator however, does not seem to be using these pants for the designed purpose, instead using it for aesthetic purposes. We may be moving into a direction where fashion is about both aesthetic purposes and usefulness.

The picture above shows a trend that pleases both the demands of work and pleasing aesthetics. Fashion seems much less delicate with this trend as these overalls are known for their strength and durability. This style of wearing workwear as a fashion statement is a different approach from the fast fashion approach. Workwear garments are garments you can buy and will last a very long time.

How To Style Different FITS of Jeans

Today I will be showing you guys how to style different styles of jeans. How to dress them casually and how to dress them up. Jeans are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. It’s important for us to have different styles of jeans so our style is more elevated, and it does not look like we wear the same jeans everyday. Having different fits of jeans might be intimating because you don’t know what to style them with.. So, I am here today to show you two ways you can wear them from a casual day time look to a more formal look.

THE BAGGY JEAN

This one is not everyone’s taste, but it is currently trending, and a lot of fashionable individuals are being seen wearing them. They can look a bit unflattering but styled right they’ll look amazing and really fashion forward. Since they are really baggy it’s important to not pair it with a baggy top because then it will look like you are drowning in your outfit. An easy way to style these casually is to wear it with a fitted crop top like the image above or even a tight bodysuit would look nice with these jeans. As for shoes a sneaker is great and really comfortable any sneaker would work especially for a casual look. To dress it up you can throw on a flowy blouse that isn’t too oversized and an oversized blazer for or a more business look. You can also ditch the blazer and just leave the blouse with the jeans and maybe add a belt with some strappy heels or even a slim boot.

The Cropped Flare

`The cropped flared jeans are also a style of jean that not a lot of people would love, because they look like high water jeans or in other words jeans that look like they have shrunk in the wash. For those who do like this style of jeans these are easy to dress because you don’t have to try much to look fashionable with these, because the jeans are the statement piece. For a casual look you can pair them with a simple tee, either plain or graphic and be good. For shoes some chunky boots, sneakers and loafer would complete the look. For a more formal look throwing on a blazer over anything make you look more put together but you can also wear a button up any style would fit. As for shoes I would say a block heel or even a stiletto depending on the occasion you are dressing for. 

The Mom Jean

The mom jeans has been the hot it jeans for the last couple of years you can see everyone wearing them. Mostly everyone loves the fit of the vintage Levi’s 501s because they fit nicely against the body. Styling them is very simple because you can literally pair them with anything and look put together. For a casual look you can add any crop top without revealing too much skin, because these jeans are high waisted so you don’t have to worry about exposing too much skin. To dress up these jeans the easiest way is by adding a black blouse and throwing on some heels, this elevates the look making it look a lot more formal. 

The Skinny Jean

The oh so popular skinny jeans are everyones top favorite jeans to wear. These are a lot more easier to style since they are fitted to the body and don’t have a weird fit like the others. One way to elevate your looks when wearing skinny jeans would be to wear oversized tops, sweaters, tunics over them! It looks really nice because of the fit of the jeans are so tight it makes oversized tops look good on top of them. A unique way to casually style your skinny jeans would be by of course throwing on an oversized top and letting it flow. But also, layering would make you look less simple than just a tee, for example wearing a tee and then layering on top a long sleeve button up and then rolling up the sleeves with a few accessories it will look like you put a lot of effort when in reality you didn’t. A way to dress up a skinny jean would be by accessorizing, adding color and maybe even throwing in a funky heel would make your outfit look next level.

The Wide Leg

The wide leg! This style doesn’t look good on everyone since its a jean that is overbearingly long and unflattering. People on the shorter side have a harder time getting these to work for them since they are long, but a way that works for most is by wearing heels with them at all times. Thats the number one way it will look good on you. A way to dress them casually would be to wear a top more on the fitted side even a crop top would look good so it doesn’t take away from the jeans. When having jeans that are the statement pieces its important to not have such a loud top and go more plain and simple. A way to dress them up would be by sticking to a color theme like all light colors or dark. This way the outfit can look cohesive through out, making it look more on the dressed up side than casual. Also by pairing it with a more fancier shoe like a platform or a glossy stiletto will make your look more formal.

A collared shirt is usually seen as uniform for middle aged office workers but if you are daring enough to try, adding the collared shirt to your wardrobe will add a business casual look to your style. There are many ways to style collared shirts and add this look to your wardrobe.

The first picture is a casual take on the classic collared shirt. The shirt is unbuttoned slightly and paired with a subtle silver necklace. By unbuttoning the shirt slightly and the addition of the necklace, you transform the professional appearing garment to a business casual way of dress. 

The second picture pairs a collared shirt, necklace, and a cardigan sweater. Not only will the cardigan keep you warm, it also adds a semi professional look to your outfit while maintaining a casual style. You can really experiment with different colors and materials of cardigans. 

The third and fourth picture shows a collared shirt paired a crewneck and distressed denim. The collared shirt underneath the crewneck adds a business casual look to your outfit while the distressed denim gives of a thrashed appearance. The mix of the business casual look with a distressed look is a great style to experiment with if you are looking for different ways to style business casual garments with more casual garments.
