Idk whether to laugh or cry atp 😭😭😭😭😭 I’ve been joking around about jiara death trope since march of last year but it came as the BIGGEST shock, especially with the s5 renewal (which.. the last season without arguably the most beloved character? Please.) and what’s worse is the other 4 episodes genuinely everything was wrong with the second half of part 2 😭😭😭😭

IT REALLY WAS!! in my (unpopular) opinion so far even moreso than in s3. as for the writing, I've gotten a few asks about obxtober and writing in general and while I'm not sure I can get a fic written in time for obxtober I'm thinking of updating wswf sometime next week :') this season really did suck me right back in. really appreciate your patience with me ik I'm awful when it comes to consistency

WELCOME TO OBXTOBER!!!

to fill in the gap between outer banks season 4 pt 1 & pt 2, we’ve decided to come up with a little event we’re calling obxtober! the rules are super simple: there pretty much are none.

in between now and obx4 pt 2, just choose any prompt and write a fic about it, or make a gifset, or some art, or an edit. anything goes! the prompts are meant to be vague and able to be interpreted however you choose to interpret them. if you want to squeeze five prompts into one thing, you can do that as well!

(if you're posting to ao3, be sure to add your fic to the obxtober collection!)

when you’ve completed a prompt, think of it like a punch card you might get going to your favorite ice cream shop. just throw a jiara/obx/beach themed emoji over the cloud with the prompt(s) you used, and post it! tag us or use #obxtober so we can repost it.

I’d just like to give a little context to explain why I haven’t updated anything in almost a full year now. The thing is, I’ve got most of the last three chapters of wswf written, but this past year has been a really difficult time for my family and I -obviously not even close to how difficult it’s been for Palestinians actually living in Gaza- and coincidentally, ch10 is centered pretty heavily on a Palestinian character they meet on their trip. And so now every time I open the document for the chapter I just kinda stare at it and don’t know if I wanna scrap it and completely change it or if I wanna finish it or 😭😭 I’m gonna try and figure it out soon trust I don’t wanna leave you hanging <3 and I have other drafts of some stuff as well that are nearly done too so I think.. especially with s4 airing soon I’m hoping to at least try and get some of those wips done.

Israeli soldiers are conducting a series of invasive operations across the West Bank, abducting numerous Palestinians, killing and injuring civillians, and engaging in destructive raids on homes and Palestinian property.

This is what happened today (April 18) in the West Bank:

At dawn - Israeli soldiers launched a widespread operation in various parts of the occupied West Bank, breaking into homes, damaging Palestinian properties, and detaining at least 26 Palestinians, including two young women.

At day - The aggression continued as soldiers proceeded to assault Adli Rayyes and his son, Hashem, resulting in various injuries to both of them. Palestinian medics had to transport them to Jericho governmental hospital for treatment.

Afternoon - The Israeli Occupation Forces moved to the central West Bank where they entered the town Deir Ballout (west of Salfit city). There, they confiscated a telecommunications car that was being used for repair and maintenance work.

Evening - Dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded the Ein Al-Sultan refugee camp (north of Jericho). They stormed and ransacked homes within the camp and abducted a young man named Nayef Abu Dahouk, taking him to an unknown destination. At the same time an Israeli military jeep rammed into a young Palestinian woman in Jenin (northern West Bank). She was taken to the Jenin governmental hospital, and is currently suffering from fractures and severe bruising.

The Palestinian Detainees Committee reports that over 40 Palestinians were abducted by Israeli soldiers TODAY alone, from various parts of the West Bank, with a concentration of these abductions occurring in Nablus, followed by operations in Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jericho, Hebron, and Jerusalem.

Two homes belonging to Mohammad and Ahmad Zeidat, who have been kidnapped since January, in the town Bani Naim (near Hebron) were also demolished.

Over 8,310 Palestinians have been abducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces since October 7, 2023.
