been learning since 2022 but it's an on and off study unfortunatelyy >< !! lessons from proko in yt helps a lot! and there's a website called lineofaction.com if i'm still correct that gives you timed practice from 30-60 sec n more! i think that's what accelerated my progress the most so yep! the doggie pic u sent is so adorable btw 😭

We’re literally the same, like LIDOLLY the sammeeee. My playlists are so bipolar—I genuinely don’t know how I manage to listen to them on shuffle. I try so hard to keep them organized, but it just never works.

As for my favorite genres, I’d say hip hop, R&B, late 80’s-90s-pop ,and Afro beats. I’ve kinda fallen out of love with K-pop, especially after NewJeans disbanded—TVT. I honestly lost hope in the industry. It feels like everyone’s just chasing trends and virality instead of focusing on the music itself or understanding the culture behind it. It’s really disheartening. I love art a lot, and I love consuming it, so seeing K-pop groups perform songs rooted in cultures outside of Korea without real engagement or respect just feels… corporate. Too surface-level. It makes me so sad, especially because I used to love it so much. Seeing it shift like this is honestly unfortunate.

On another note—about R1—I MUST WAIT. The more snippets I see, the more I know without the proper context, and that just makes the actual experience less satisfying. I’d rather read it all in one go and fully immerse myself, so for now, I shall sit and meditate until the batch release.

BUT… the one thing I’m burning to know is: what were in those dam flowers Heeseung gave to the MC? Were they based on a real type of flower? I need to know. Ever since the hospital scene, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Heeseung is such a drama queen—and honestly, I’m so here for it.

and yes it's based on a ornamental flower called angel's trumpet. it's toxic n poisonous but it's safe to grow tho smelling it can cause hallucinations, memory problems, blurry visions, etc.

I don’t even know where to start—my personal top 5 are Scent of You, Deer Hunter, Illumination, Extraordinary Day, and MEME!! Also HELLO?? The guzhengs are so insanely pretty BRO. The ones that stood out to me the most were the red bamboo print and the one with the sakura tree branch—GEEZ, I see you, I see you spoiling us with those lil R1 snippets and the soundtrack too. DUDE. You should just casually bless us with quick guzheng tunes here and there, I’m not even joking. once you get your guzheng you BEST drop an edit with Daddy’s Home by Usher in the background or I’m suing.

Yuan, do you have any experience with linocut printmaking by any chance?? Cuz like—vrooo I really wanna get into it! They’re basically custom stamps >0< and I think they’re sooo cool. Plus, I always overthink it when I sign a painting, so I figured a tiny stamp could be a fun solution. But I haven’t actually tried it yet, so I thought—maybe the great wise old owl might’ve dabbled?

Anyways, I’m horrible with names/titles, but ugh—I hate you for this, yet I love you so much for it too. Your work has been banger after banger, literally. You got me into &TEAM around the time Firework dropped, and man, their music is like a breath of fresh air. I don’t know, I just really love their sound—it’s so unique and refreshing.

A classic work I’m sure you’ve heard praised countless times before is Route 1. I loved it so much because I randomly stumbled upon it one day, and something about it just hit different. At the time, I was dealing with a bit of a stalker situation, so I resonated with it in a way I didn’t expect—it gave me goosebumps.

But anyways, every time I read your writing, it feels like you’re a sculptor, carving away at a block of marble with precise words and details. The way you articulate your writing has stood out to me from the start. Honestly, you could write anything, and I’d eat that up EVERY SINGLE TIMEEEE >0< :9

Also, I’m not sure if it’s just my wack computer, but were the earlier chapters of Route 1 deleted? Might just be my problem, tbh. :>

First of all, I just wanna thank you for taking the time to respond—gahhh, it seriously means so much to me. For real, I’ve been reading your stuff for about two years now, and you’ve been a huge inspiration to me.

On another note… yeah, I’ve got nothing. I somehow passed Applied Graphic Arts with a 75%, but man, I was cooked. The only reason I passed was pure skill—I could NOT articulate my way around that stuff at all. The struggle was so real—trying to zoom in and out while glancing over at the next desk, where some dude already comfortable with the software was breezing through the assignment like it was nothing… GULP.

Honestly, my only saving grace was that the teacher was chill. But yeah… never. Never again.

Also, try talking to your professor about Photoshop and student discounts! I know universities offer a lot of those, so it’s worth taking advantage of. I got free Photoshop access for a whole year just because my school provided it, so definitely look into it.

But hey, if you ever need oil painting tips—I’m here! >0< That’s like, literally my bbg. I live, laugh, love oil paints (best art medium out there, no debate).

3hrs studying graphic design today but it's just all about actually being frustrated bc i have no idea what to do with the app like srsly HOW DO U DO THIS? WHY THE HECK THE TEXT IS NOT APPEARING? where the heck did the layer go?? 😭😭😭BAHAHA how do u zoom in? well atleast for my first time, i manage to make it a bit of a paint-ish feeling?? BUT THE TYPOGRAPHY is LACKING- i don't want to get the fonts from their app I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO DRAW MY OWN FONTS. i think graphic design for now is just rlly all about familiarizing yourself with the app LOLL but i rlly improve fast so hoping to put out a good good result by the end of this week aaaaa
