okay so in canon: Izuku sees bakugo as the ideal of victory, someone whos Drive and determination is worth looking up to and emulating. Meanwhile bakugo is defined by everyones expectations of him, he HAS to be the best because if hes basically been raised to believe that if he doesnt fulfill those expectations hes nothing.

The concept of this au plays off of that. Izuku comes out as a trans man in middleschool, the same day bakugo was gonna come out as a trans woman. Izuku basically talks about how much he looks up to bakugo and how he sees them as the pinnacle of masculinity, and want to be just like them. Bakugo doesnt even get a chance to come out, as another expectation is thrown her way she cuts Deku out of her life, Who just keeps insisting on being her friend which causes her to resort to bullying.

Her plan is essentially to get to U.A and transition there...except Deku gets in too, ruining everything for her as he now knows her secret.

I had a lot of fun redesigning Kamikos Hero costume with the idea that she looks up to Mirko. Mirko is a trans woman in this au and pretty much the reason Bakugo felt Brave enough to come out originally. Bakugo has a dragón theme instead of a Bunny theme.

Also everyone gets costume redesigns because Kamiko and Izuku both are adamant to not let the students be sexualized.

something im thinking about recently is how easily Chumley couldve been relevant to GXs Season One plot. Hes a third year and a slifer red, but hes actually an adult since he got held back a bunch of times. But actually think about that, It doesnt make sense. Slifer reds are one failed exam from being expelled. Chumley wouldve had to start from a higher ranking dorm, and since his dad was dueling state champion he one hundred percent had the connections to be an obelisk blue. He couldve known atticus and served some sort of purpose.

It's come to my attention that a good portion of the younger generation has not been made aware of one of the greatest and most hated PILLARS of millennial society.

So I apologize, but I must take on this task. A new hand must touch the beacon. The knowledge must be passed on. The chain can not be broken.

YUUNA: when i was a kid i had a deviantart account where i posted my own duel monsters designs. everyone was weird, creepy, and transphobic to me.

BLAIR: That really sucks.

YUUNA: it's cool i won a Kaibacorp contest that made all of those designs canon so my follower count kind of shot up. which kind of sucks because everyone can see my Yugi Muto x Reader stuff.

i think a lot about what my own take on yuuna yuki would be. making yubel a guardian figure is an absolute great call and removes a creepy factor in keeping yubel present within the story, but a part of me still pretty much obsessed with the soulmate aspect of yubel and the supreme king.

My main idea if i were to write my own take on it would be to make Haou and Yubel fuse in Haou’s dying moments, so they die together. When he reincarnates into Yuuna at a certain point during early childhood she starts seeing a kid her own age that nobody else seems to see, essentially Yubel’s own reincarnation who shares a body with Yuuna, while Yubel’s Duel Spirit doesn’t have memory of the supreme king or anything.

So there’s this sort of dynamic where Yuuna duels with elemental heroes and Yubi (yubel’s reincarnation) duels with a Yubel focused stall deck. I have DID so i thought it’d be cool to set it up as a similar situation. Yuuna is desperate to get to obelisk blue because thats basically when the school would allow her to transition since girls are only allowed in the blue dorm. Because of Yubi pretty much taking over for any book smarts related task they get into ra yellow.

I have this idea in my head that when Aster beats her and she can’t see her cards, instead of the neo spacian stuff she reaches down into her calling, into the gentle song at the back of her soul telling her to be sure of herself. A gentle voice, coming from the dark. She gets access to the evil heroes.

When she comes back she’s finally presenting female and doesn’t care if she would get expelled for it, she’s here to save her friends. Her name is Yuuna Yuki, and she’s gonna be a fucking hero. She summons Inferno Wing instead of Flame Wingman.

God I just think about this a lot.

yuuna yuuki is a really good fic and i’m obsessed with her. i like the idea of bastion having a little nerd crush on yuuna.
