UPCOMING ✱ MortuuM: a Jcink board skin

A few years ago, I had an idea for a project for a supernatural RPG Jcink board with a friend. So much was brainstormed and discussed but, still, the pandemic hit us so bad we didn’t actually do anything with the project. I had coded around 60% of the skin when I decided to shelve it. And it had been there catching dust up until 5–6 weeks ago, when I decided to take a look on it.

The basic aesthetics were kept, but my HTML/CSS knowledge since then has been expanded, so the coding itself had to go through a bunch of changes. Now the skin is responsive, it has a dark/light mode toggle, and it generally has better UI. I would share a live test, but the problem with those when it comes to Jcink skins is that I’ve had people copying directly from my code before just by inspecting elements, so I am a bit traumatised. I will share all the previews necessary on the actual release, though.

I’m not going to lie, it has been a while since I coded an actual Jcink skin that wasn’t a commission, so I am kind of nervous to put it out in the world just yet. For now, I am checking if I can still find some bugs here and there, whilst working on an instructions file for the skin details that need to be taken care of.

If things go according to plan, this skin will be released this upcoming week (mayhaps a few days from now?), I just need to make sure everything is in place. And even if it is not, well, my inbox will be open for notices of bug encounters afterwards.

Yuki, your Bulletproof Heart skin is absolutely stunning. I was wondering if you'd consider a dark mode toggle for it? I bought the skin but my coding skills are so basic, I would sooner break the internet to figure out how to properly implement the toggle.

i considered making a dark toggle a good while ago, but back then i remember that i got so overwhelmed when doing it that i let go of the idea completely. :( i think i was having trouble with making the colours match in a way that felt pleasing to the eye... in the end i'd have to change so much that i preferred to just let it be.

So here's a list of 60+ text generators (in alphabetical order) to zhuzh up your projects. Just don't be like me and forget to replace them with something appropriate when you share them with the world (a mistake I will likely continue to make).

almost an year later... i'm here just to say i'm alive. the skin i posted here is still in the works (actually, i took a hiatus from coding, so it's still like 85% finished lol) due to my life being a mess, and me not having time at all to work on bigger projects. i'm about to get my degree and things are hard out here... with that said, however, i wanted to ask you if any of you think it'd be interesting for me to work on simpler codes—like rp templates, trackers etc. i've been in need of some cash but i have no idea how should i start working on things that will not overwhelm me, so i'd appreciate some thoughts! you can either send them through my askbox or reply here, i don't mind. at this point i'm more curious than anything. :)

hello, jcink tumblr community!

i decided to open this coding blog since i started working on my first pre-made skin—i’ve coded jcink skins and templates for a long time for personal projects, but never tried making a pre-made up until last week. this is kinda scary but also very exciting. as soon as i have at least, like, 75% of this skin completed, i’ll post some screenshots lmao.
