Amish Hamburger Steak Bake 🍽️🍖

Ingredients: For the Hamburger Steaks:
1 lb ground beef 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 egg 1/4 cup breadcrumbs 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp onion powder 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Salt and black pepper to taste 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying) For the Gravy:
1 packet brown gravy mix (or homemade if preferred) 1 1/2 cups beef broth 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp butter (optional for extra richness) For the Bake:
2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared ahead of time, or instant mashed potatoes) Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) Instructions: Prepare the Hamburger Steaks:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined, then form the mixture into 4-6 patties (depending on the size you prefer). Cook the Hamburger Steaks:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the hamburger patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside. Make the Gravy:
In the same skillet, whisk in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and brown gravy mix. Stir to combine, and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes, then add butter if desired for extra richness. Assemble the Bake:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the mashed potatoes evenly in the bottom of a baking dish. Place the hamburger steaks on top of the mashed potatoes. Pour the gravy over the hamburger steaks, making sure they are well-coated. Bake:
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes, or until everything is heated through. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to let the top of the potatoes slightly brown. Serve and Garnish:
