☆ warnings: for writing purposes astro didn't completely lose his mind when becoming a twisted, yandere!astro (sorry, i can't write him as a twisted without making him slightly obsessive💔), gn reader, short

╰┈➤ when astro didn't manage to get into the elevator in time, you barely managed to do the machines on the next floor. but there was no time to be mourning for him, you need to help your other teammates so everyone can survive.

╰┈➤ and as the team slowly started to get smaller and smaller, until there was only you left, the elevator door opened. it was just another normal floor, until you heard soft steps coming in your direction. was it pebble? no, you didn't hear any barking, and you couldn't remember anyone else who had such soft steps.

╰┈➤ that's until you saw him. astro was a lot taller than he was before, hugging himself while ichor ran down his cheeks almost like tears. you froze in spot, not even realizing he was coming in your direction.

╰┈➤ but for some reason he didn't attack you. if anything, he took a step back once your body tensed up, ready to run. he couldn't lose you again.

╰┈➤ astro couldn't speak anymore, so there was no way for him to say he wasn't going to do you any harm, if not just silently stand there. and surprisingly, it worked. with some hesitancy, you slowly approached him, watching as he uncrossed his lower pair of arms to hug you.

╰┈➤ despite his warm embrace, he wasn't planning on letting you go anytime soon. and you could definitely feel it by how tight he was hugging you.

╰┈➤ and you didn't know how to feel about that. well, it's better to stay with him than leave astro forever and turn into a twisted by the next five floors, right?

╰┈➤ despite not being able to talk, astro could do some humming noises, and that's all he'd do while near you — which was 99% of the time since if you walked three steps away from him he'd be following behind.

╰┈➤ astro also don't let the other twisteds come closer to you. he can't handle the idea of you turning into what he had become, so he protects you the best he can.

╰┈➤ there are probably times when you have some kind of existential crisis because it's not normal to live with the same five rooms for the rest of your life with only someone who can't speak and other twisteds who just kind of got used to you there. but astro is there to hold you close and let you cry in case you need it.

╰┈➤ just don't leave him.
