Hello~ Long time no see, ✨️Inspired Anon returns✨️

I said I had ideas for the 3Vees in the Self Aware Au, but kinda forgot that I never sent them. But~ I had an iron clad memory when it comes to these things so if you want them, here they are~

For starters, all the Vees are aware of the Reader, but I'll leave their reactions to finding out that they're in a show to you.

Starting with Valentino. Val both loves and hates Reader, he loves that this little butterfly spends time in his office and 'oversees' some of his filming but hates that he never gets any reaction that he wants and that frustrates him to no end. Val tries to show Reader his films, his scripts, he even tried getting his workers to put on a 'private show' for Reader but Reader only ever seemed interested in following Angel the majority of the time.

Like, Val gets it, Angels nice eye candy, but he has so much more to offer than just his star!

Why does Val want Readers approval so much? Because he's convinced that every time Readers little butterfly appears during him writing a new script or filming his latest movie, it becomes a massive success. If he can find a way to monopolise Readers attention, then maybe he could make them view even more of his work in progresses and they'd become successes too!

It's purely placebo on his part, and the other Vees tell him that and show him the statistics to prove that there is no real difference in profit between work Reader viewed and work they haven't, but he's too deep in this rabbit hole to get back out.

Yes, Val might think he can use Reader as an infinite success glitch.

He's also not opposed to banging their butterfly form and gets major butthurt when they 'turn down his advances'. He'll keep trying because 'they haven't said no'... bitch, of course they hate said no, THEY HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING! He's trying to figure out the logistics of how it would work and the other Vee mysteriously always have important work to do when he tries to bounce ideas off of them

Velvette is indifferent to Reader. They don't respond to her both on and offline, so they're a bit of a non factor to her. She has tried getting more of their attention when they fluttered around the studio (mainly following Angel), by dropping hint at making clothing inspired by their butterfly form, but stormed off in a huff at the lack of response. So now she is #OverThem.

However, Vel isn't one to be ignored. She likes to keep tabs on Reader, even made it into a little game with the Voxigram tag #ButterflySpotted where people upload candid pics of Reader around town. If they are genuine pics of Reader, she pays the uploader... in exposure.

She also does still have that butterfly themed dress line tucked away, she tweaks the design ever now and then. It will be her most expensive dress line released once Reader finally acknowledges her, but she miiight give Reader something for free if they admit she's their favourite Vee, preferably in front of the other Vees.

Vox is obsessed with Reader, almost to the same extent as his obsession with Alastor but for different reasons. However, he's not as oblivious as the others when it comes to Reader.

Vox recognises that Reader is listening and not replying instead of blatantly ignoring him, which has led to Vox following Reader (off camera) and venting about everything and anything. This might lead to some form of unhealthy attachment to Reader, but at least he isn't trying to get in Readers butterfly's pants like Val... unless...

Vox also openly admits to designing new drones based on them and has definitely told Reader about them, too. Reader didn't reply, but he knows they're listening.

Vox is also aware of the Reader hanging around the Hotel crew. He doesn't like that. He had considered that Reader was originally a spy for them but concluded that that was unlikely, he also considered recruiting Reader as a spy themselves but won't until he figures out a way around their communication issues.

Currently, he's 'content' with Reader having 'friends' inside the hotel because he knows that he's their favourite. But they better stay away from Alastor. They better not be letting him talk at them. He means it! THAT'S YOUR THINGS WITH HIM NOT YOUR THING WITH AL!

Idk how to answer this honestly, it was worded so well ngl. Val would fr have that love-and-hate relationship with reader. He loves that he can sometimes say to the others about how the butterfly stays in his office/part of the building, but then comes the part that he gets little to no attention, which he obviously hates. And yes, no matter what he gets told, the things made with reader around are OBVIOUSLY better and make more money,, obviously bcs how else there's absolutely no difference😒As for the banging ideas... don't let anyone outside of The Vee's know, that's all I will say bcs Val may end up dead once again...

Velvette is the safest to be around ngl, she doesn't do anything crazy after getting no attention like Val, and the gram is so real, she would save all the real pics to her gallery for sure. I just know that while some guys got exposure, some ended up a little differently... she so would get jealous over pics taken from really up close, she doesn't want random idiots that close to reader. And the collection !! Yes!! The price would be so high that even someone with The Vee's paycheck would call it really expensive, after all, she can't let some complete random wear something like that !! If reader told her how something would look better, even a mere suggestion, she WOULD think abt it for long before most likely actually changing it.

"This might lead to some form of unhealthy attachment to Reader." Don't even get me started on that, if they were to meet, he would assume that reader was actually able to hear every single thing he has said, which reader would not as they hear only what's in the actual show, unless we're going into an Au of sorts.I feel like he wouldn't try to get into reader's pants, but he may listen to Val without being forced to do it from time to time... It's not that he dislikes the fact that the lil butterfly hangs out a lot at the hotel, he HATES it, he wants reader at The Vee's building more !!

ʚїɞ Not me casually posting like it hasn't been months since the 2nd part... ANYWAY... This took WAY too long but it's here!!!! This is shorter than I wanted, but I already knew it would be short as I don't grasp these two too well imo, so I didn't have too much to say here. Probably will rewrite it one day if I ever decide I got better with their characters as I would love for this to be longer <3

Very few characters would notice something wrong on the first watch of the show, but wouldn't realize, nor become self-aware until the 2nd or further watch.

While everyone's reaction would be different with different amounts of stages before total acceptance of the situation, they all would share the first emotion, simple disbelief. They would first need to even process the fact that they're not real, that they were created solely for the purpose of entertaining… something? Someone? In a completely different Universe. That everything that they thought had happened to them before they died didn't actually happen, they were never alive in the first place. Only after that did the emotions and reactions differ. The very first emotion or actual personal reaction would be:

Charlie

Fright, confusion, frustration

Charlie didn't know what to think at first. On one side, she, and everyone else, are 2D characters on a show for fucks sake, but on the other side, you didn't do anything to them. She would be the only one (in hell) to not be outright negative about you, she started out at the neutral zone.

Whether the others were already aware or not, they could notice a change in her behavior for a few days after the situation hits her. To think that the 200+ years that she thought that she was alive was actually a lie, fake, would be a hard fact to swallow. Her being rightfully confused about the situation, many questions filled her head and she had no answers. Like father, like daughter, if you will.

What exactly do you want from them? Can you do something else besides watching them? Do you want to do something more? Would you talk to them directly if you could? Do you-

Yeah, she's like her father in that aspect.

She was curious on just how much would change if they weren't in a show, no, if they had a choice in anything, since they wouldn't exist without the show. The thought may give her nightmares. Could her relationship with her dad be better than what it is? Could she do more for hell? Would her mother still be here and not missing? 

Some frustration could come in early on, as she was already stressed about the hotel, but also trying to keep everyone from being negative about you. While they didn't know much, you didn't show any malicious intent, which in her books was enough to not outright dislike you. She would be pretty close to the negative zone in the first few days, but it would quickly turn to neutral upon knowing she wasn't the only one to know, and being told what little they knew.

She didn't even look for the signs of everything around them being just wrong, she didn't need to. She would just sit there and realize how quiet everything was outside, how many memories that she previously thought she had, seemed to be actually lacking in existence.

As for whether she would be disappointed in herself for not noticing earlier or not, I see two options.

One, she wouldn't be necessarily really disappointed in herself for not noticing, at least not as much as some of the others upon finding out and processing the fact that there were people who noticed before her, but also that there were people who didn't realize after her.

Then there's the second option where I can imagine her being immensely disappointed in herself for not noticing much, much sooner. She’s the princess of hell, she should’ve noticed it! She would be overthinking that if something happened before she became self-aware, she wouldn't have been able to help in any way. She wouldn't be aware of it.

She may have not been the first to notice your presence, but she wasn't the last, which gave her a little bit of comfort either way.

She would be in the “can only watch” team with not much hesitation about it, and in the neutral zone from pretty much the start.

Vaggie

Anger, frustration and hatred

One of the few who would hate you the moment they processed everything. At first, her thoughts weren't the most rational, going off of negative feelings in panic and in general, but what she thought about you didn't change much even after she calmed down. She despised the thought of her, them all, being some bullshit made-up characters for someone to enjoy. She started out in the negative zone with no hesitation. She really tried not to think about the fact that she, none of them, were ever truly alive, that her whole life, existence, was fake to her very core.

After she became self-aware, she tried to find signs she missed before and it pained her when she realized how obvious everything was. She couldn't remember most of the things besides what was showed on the screen for you, the outside of the hotel wasn't filled with screaming 24/7 a day like she thought it was, there wasn't even anyone outside when she looked outside. It was painfully obvious and yet she, none of them, realized it fast enough for her liking.

She would be pissed and assume you like seeing them suffer, because why would you just watch as another character got rid of her eye? Why would you just watch bad things happen and do nothing? It’s frustrating as hell to her that she can’t do shit to you/your form and the only thing she can really do is sit back, observe, and watch as things happen, unable to do anything… ironic, isn’t it?

Unlike Charlie, she would for sure be heavily frustrated and disappointed in herself for not noticing anything earlier, the fact that she wasn't in the first 3 to notice after being told everything didn't help her inner thoughts, especially with how protective she can be.

If she became self-aware before Charlie, she would be unexplainably more protective of her (and others but she would try to not make it as obvious), until her girlfriend became self-aware herself and understood the reason (Charlie would still think its a little bit too much since she would think you were completely harmless to them). She would act in a similar fashion to finding out before Charlie if she were the latter to find out, but her actions wouldn't be as concealed due to the reasons already being known.

Would make her hatred clear whenever they were on the topic of you, or when your butterfly form was around them. Vaggie would throw you a glare the moment she knows you couldn't see her without hesitation. Tried to stab you through your small body or wing with her spear to see if she could (do some damage back) hurt you, only to be disappointed when it just phased right through you.

Vaggie would be on the “only watches but can do more” team, and start out heavily in the negative zone, before, Charlie would get her to the neutral zone with some time.

Temporal Mandate Transfer - alternate ending

Cw: (Heavy?) Angst, Character Death, 1.1 spoilers

You watched the battle between Jinhsi, the magistrate, and Jue, the Sentinel, unfold before your very eyes. She could barely attack it, or so it seemed. Jinhsi was dodging it's attacks left, right and center, attacking whenever the Sentinel was on the ground. Her attacks barely grazed it though, only leaving her more exhausted and injured as time went by.

Suddenly, it seemed as though time had been paused on the battlefield with Jue high in the air and preparing an attack. You considered intervening, although before you could make up your mind, Jinhsi had broken free of the 'spell' and parried Jue's attack just barely in time, this leading the pair into yet another battle. Although… this one seemed far more complicated than before.

This extra layer of complexity certainly took it's toll on the young woman in battle… It was clear her resolve was breaking, however, you believed… no, you knew she wouldn't give up. She was strong, and she'd do anything to protect her city.

You had no idea what was going through Jinhsi's mind at the moment, but whatever it was, it was keeping her going, she even seemed a bit more confident in herself than before. Though, just a few minutes later, maybe around half-way through the battle, she was beginning to show signs of overclocking.

The young woman pushed through it until the very end of the battle, where she dropped to her knees and sighed in relief, looking up at the Sentinel, the creature, whom she'd just won against, whom seemed far from exhausted. The three of you could tell, though, that Jinhsi's condition was only worsening, so when she finally began overclocking, Jue paused time. You jogged over to it, watching Jinhsi for a moment.

Jue eventually spoke, breaking whatever muddled train of thoughts you had.

"Arbiter… may this one transfer the Temporal Mandate to Jinhsi?" it asked, now floating right by you.

You two had entered this Sonoro Sphere together, with a promise to each other to save the City of Jinzhou, however, when it most mattered, you hesitated… "why?" You ask yourself over and over again "Why am I hesitating…? This is what we both want… so why?" though an answer never came to you. You glanced between Jue and the Magistrate with an uncertain look, laced with a hint of worry.

When your tacet mark began to glow and Jinhsi suddenly appeared right behind you, you thought your uncertainty had been broken through and you raised you hand towards the glowing ball of light, although, you paused midway… as though some magical force was stopping you. You wanted to tell the Sentinel that, yes, it can transfer the Temporal Mandate to Jinhsi, but you just couldn't.

You glanced around before looking back at your raised hand, which you soon retracted back to your side. Taking deeper breaths to calm yourself and your racing mind, you looked back at Jinhsi.

Although, she was now clutching at her head and hunching over, clearly in pain. You tried and tried, though to no avail, you just couldn't bring yourself to let this happen. But everything was fine and the plan was clear in your mind so what's changed? Perhaps subconsciously you'd decided this was a bad idea after all?

"Arbiter, is that your final decision?"

At the sound of Jue's voice a surge of panic went through you, causing you to pause for a moment.

"Well- no, but… I don't… I don't understand… I..-" you stuttered out, though you were soon cut off by a cry of pain coming from behind you. Immediately, you turned to look and, oh, did the sight terrify you…

Jinhsi had fallen to the ground once again, though her limbs were turning white and slowly crumbling away whilst you and the Sentinel could only observe her new fate.

"Jue… I permit… Jue, transfer the Temporal Mandate to her!" You exclaimed, finally able to break free of whatever restraints held you back from making this choice. Right after you spoke, you ran over to Jinhsi and held her up, holding one of her withering hands in your own.

"Unfortunately, that is no longer possible, Arbiter. Jinhsi is far too weak. Going through with the transfer now would only cause her more unnecessary pain."

Jue finally responded to your command, it appeared unfazed, however, it was like the two of you connected in that moment. As if you could feel what it was feeling. A truly unpleasant sensation coursed throughout your body, causing goosebumps to arise on your skin. It was a feeling of grief. The kind you feel only when you lose someone important… a loved one.

You could feel Jinhsi shuddering in your arms, quite a lot of her was withered away by now.

"Rover…" She whispered with whatever strength she may have had left, you could even see tears welling up in her eyes, though not from sadness and certainly not defeat.

"Rover…" she repeated.

"Please, promise me you'll find a way to restore Jinzhou… It can't remain frozen in time forever… It… it can't… please…"

"I promise… Jinhsi, I promise to find a way, no matter what… I'm… so sorry…"

Then all went silent. But only for a moment, as the young girl spoke again.

"Thank you…" Jinhsi mumbled once more. Her final words.

You watched as the life drained from her eyes, as the remnants of what was once your friend, now mere specks of dust, floated off into the air. Even though time was still paused, she still defied Jue, even in death. Perhaps as a final act of rebellion, a way to tell you that, even though she won't be around anymore, she still hasn't given up hope on Jinzhou.

You were left feeling saddened, despite everything, still determined to honor this last promise. You slowly looked back at Jue, who was still staring at you.

"One will now honor one's promise of freezing Jinzhou to preserve it…" Jue spoke quietly before flying up into the air and supposedly paused time in Jinzhou. You wondered what that would look like, although, you were afraid. Afraid of seeing all your companions forever(?) frozen in time.

Just then, the Sentinel spoke again.

"I will answer whatever questions you have, Arbiter…"

I saw you were looking for ideas for Vaggie so I thought I might suggest something?

kinda simple but in the show Vaggie is very protective and also lowkey kinda violent. I definitely think she would not trust reader and the only way she would ever get neutral about it would be through Charlie. If the hotel residents ever want to try and contact reader through the screen (I think you mentioned that as a concept once) or do anything regarding contacting reader I definitely think she’d be the least on board. Vaggie would likely be worried about this hurting Charlie especially since reader seemingly just watches them all the time. Plus if the hotel residents even see how Heaven is reacting to this (the whole idea of reader being like gods sibling or whatever) Vaggie really would hate it even more just cause she hates heaven and it’s principles. Basically she’d be pissed, Charlie would have to convince her to be neutral, she’d worry about reader hurting Charlie or the other hotel residents, and she’d hate the idea of someone watching them suffer (I feel like she’d be initially on team “watching for fun” but after talking with Charlie she might be convinced to be on team “forced to watch”). A lot of Vaggie is going to rely on how Charlie is about it.

The thing with her being unable to trust reader and going anywhere neutral because of Charlie is one of the only things I have written down.💀 She'd be indeed the last on board if the hotel people decided to try and contact the reader in any way (I'm pretty sure that I did mention contacting through screen once if I remember correctly, but I need to go through all he asks again anyway (planning on adding a tag to make them easier to find)). Vaggie would be so against most stuff regarding reader due to being worried about Charlie (and others but they don't need to know shh)

No one should tell her about the heaven ideas in the negative stage because otherwise getting her to neutral would be so goddamn hard (it would nearly throw her back to the negative about reader zone when she finds out about it when being neutral).😭

I also think she would be initially on the team that thinks that reader watches them (suffer) for fun but with Charlie's (and a little bit of the others opinions) she will EVENTUALLY get to the mindset of thinking that reader simply watches out of curiosity and doesn't mean much harm. (She would at one point get to the 'maybe they can't do anything besides watch but I'm still gonna be on guard because what if they can do something else' team lmao)

ʚїɞ Their reaction after becoming self aware and first thoughts about reader! part 1

ʚїɞ Alastor and Lucifer Morningstar

ʚїɞ Word count: just about 1.7k

ʚїɞ I planned for all hotel characters first but then I realized how much I'm thinking on each paragraph and its details that I decided to just do 2-3 charas per part😭

Very few characters would notice something wrong on the first watch of the show, but wouldn't realize, nor become self-aware until the 2nd or further watch. 

While everyone's reaction would be different with different amounts of stages before total acceptance of the situation, they all would share the first emotion, simple disbelief. They would first need to even process the fact that they're not real, that they were created solely for the purpose of entertaining… something? Someone? In a completely different Universe. That everything that they thought had happened to them before they died didn't actually happen, they were never alive in the first place. Only after that did the emotions and reactions differ. The very first emotion or actual personal reaction would be:

ALASTOR

Irritation with a hint of madness.

His first thoughts about the situation would be how ironic it is that he seeks entertainment for himself while his own person, no, character, was a source of entertainment for whatever was watching them from time to time. It was quite ironic how he said that his face was made for radio when the truth couldn't be further from that. He was literally created solely to be watched on that funny colored box by… whatever was watching him and the others.

He was irritated at not noticing that something was wrong immediately, now he thinks about how blind he was, how obvious everything was. The city is actually quiet, too quiet when the noise and demons aren't needed, when they're not meant to be heard. Nothing actually happened that one time when he was out for a fix of his coat, it just got magically fixed, he went and came back when someone else decided he was to do so. They didn’t have much actual free will when he thought about it and that's what he was mad about. He thought that his deal was a massive problem to him, oh how wrong he was because the problem was you.

He doesn't know how he or the others didn't notice the small, glowing butterfly flying above their heads from time to time. They couldn't be that blind, could they? The little crystal thing (could he break it?) must have done something to be unnoticed for so long. He wondered how long they were watched for, the little thing above their heads seemed to be speaking sometimes, seemingly knowing what would happen… at least he thought so, the words would cut out so often that he was left with a pure guess at one point.

He didn't want to accept that he wasn't real, that he was just a 2D character with the sole purpose of entertaining someone. He was meant to be the one entertained, not you. But he couldn't actually do anything, could he? For sure not until more of the people he knew were aware. 

That's also something that he noticed. When it came to the hotel staff and guests, he seemed to be the only one who realized the situation at first. It took a few times of some events repeating before he noticed that someone else from the hotel was noticing the little crystal butterfly above their heads as well. 

Alastor seemed to be the first, or one of the very first people who noticed that something was wrong. He wasn't sure if someone realized before him, and if they did then who, but he was somewhat glad that he could finally discuss the topic at least a little once the other hotel patrons found out about the truth. He isn't one to really open up in any way, but this was a matter where he had to communicate with the others.

You. He didn’t know what to think of you at first. He did see you in a more negative light at first, under many emotions hitting him at once which he hated but after he calmed down, he started thinking. At first, he was sure you were some sick person seeking entertainment from the suffering of others, and yeah he was doing pretty much the same, but were you really alike when he wasn’t even real and you were? He was pretty sure that he’s never gonna get used to saying that.

Over time, when he stopped overthinking (he’s gonna deny that he was doing that till the day of his 2nd death), he noticed a few changes. The less negative his posture and thoughts were about you, even if neutral, the more he was able to find out. Alastor was able to pick up more than a few words whenever you talked, he was able to hear you talking clearly enough to recognize a possible gender, and something he wasn’t sure that he wanted to think about, it was way easier to pick up your emotions in your words.

I feel like he would be more lenient towards you if it turned out you were a female (or identified as one), but that would be the mama’s boy inside of him talking. There wouldn’t be too many differences of course, but those who spent enough time around him would be able to tell there's a difference after finding out your gender if it turned out you weren’t a man (again, not too much but it IS noticeable).

He would go from lowkey hating you at first to being mostly neutral with a hint of positive light as you seemed to do nothing but watch, up until later on when everyone is self-aware as well and would talk about the whole thing. Only then would the feelings towards you, the little watcher, as he first called you, turn more positive.

LUCIFER

Massive inner conflict and a complete mix of emotions

He didn’t know what to think. It was hard to comprehend that he didn’t actually live for as long as he thought, that all the things that supposedly happened, in fact never were even close to happening, they were just… a scripted past. 

Was all his suffering for nothing? Was it there just to entertain someone? Did those things who watched them enjoy seeing them sad and hurt? He was simply lost on what to think about the whole situation, it wasn't something that he could prepare himself for in any way beforehand. 

He was disappointed in himself for not noticing immediately or at least faster that something was not right. He's the literal King of hell! Even if… only in a show apparently… but he still is. No one better say anything about that because he's already on the brink of a yet another breakdown. He cannot take much more.

Should he try doing something about this? Or should he stay quiet and go with the script as he's supposed to? He wasn’t sure about the answer himself and had no one to answer his questions. The thought that what he thought were eons of life was actually a lie was… a little terrifying. Who knows just how much can someone force them to do without caring for their opinions because they don’t know that he and the others are aware of everything now, how much can you cause without their consent? He wasn’t sure if you or anyone else knew about them being self-aware or not.

He would actually try to ignore the little butterfly whenever he would see it, but at the same time, many questions were swirling in his mind.

Why were you around? Did you like to see them suffering? Did you have any control over what you saw? Did you have some sort of control over them? Did you have plans regarding them? Did you-

Yeah, again, he has a lot of questions and absolutely zero answers.

His personal feelings about you were all around at first. Not sure whether he should hate, dislike, or be generally negative about you, be more neutral, or be on the more positive side, especially since you didn't seem to do anything but watch them. Like it's all that you could do when it comes to them, but he couldn't be 100% sure.

Similarly to Alastor, he would be one of the characters who noticed something wrong on the first watch of the show before becoming self-aware quite soon after that. I don't think he, nor Alastor, would notice the other knows too fast, since both try to act like nothing's wrong around others. He did not want to be just a 2D character, something to be watched on a screen. It was… humiliating, in his eyes. He could tell that Charlie and the others weren't aware of anything at first so he didn't speak about it until later on when he was sure that they came to their senses, as he would like to say.

He wondered how long were you actually there before he, or anyone else, started to see or notice you, especially since he could literally hear you. Both as the small insect and the occasional words he was able to pick up. And that's if he was to forget the butterfly was literally, softly fucking glowing. Yeah, they're all blind.

I think that if you’re on the younger side, (which technically is any age a human can be alive at compared to him lmao) he would be a little softer, especially if you're similar to his daughter in character. It would come from the paternal side of his, you would probably remind him of Charlie so much :(

He would be more on the negative side at first, as much as he wishes he didn't straight up assume how you were as a person, it took some time but he went into the more neutral zone before being positive about you after being able to hear more of you talking, as he was able to at least have more idea about your character and wasn't completely clueless like at the start.

Your nickname also got changed to something else, something cuter over time, as Alastor’s name for you, little watcher, was deemed not good enough by everyone (Lucifer's words)
