Manga vs Anime (vs Eng Manga?) dialogue differences in the Bakubaku moment of all time, aka the scene where Bakura saves Ryou from Osiris' attack.

In the manga, Bakura is very specific why he needs Ryou.

"Heh heh... This host is the most important thing in order to gain the power of darkness..."

But in the anime,

この宿主はオレ様にとっちゃ一番大事なモンだからよぉ　ここで殺す訳にはいかねぇのさ

Bakura leaves out to what end Ryou is important to him specifically. Ryou is simply important to him.

Now... (this next set really irks me btw)

JP chapter title is "For the Sake of Bonds!!"

"I need to keep the host alive for that purpose (ie, to gain the power of darkness)!! At least... until I have all the Millennium Items...!!"

And then we have this absolute dogwater in Eng.

I explained it in this post already, but the JP title alludes to the Bakuras since Atem/Yugi talk about their similarities/differences with them and what transpired during the duel. Changing it to that nothing title is a fecking disservice.

Furthermore! What's with the Ryou slander? JP Bakura doesnt say anything about Ryou being weak/fragile!

1) Ryou is housing Bakura's soul and hasn't burned from the inside out. Ryou is hellfire-proof and Bakura really likes it in there.

2) Connected to point one: Bakura knows how robust Item bearers are. You know who he blatantly says has a weak soul? Otogi.

3) Ryou has already beaten Bakura.

Snarls at the English translators. Don't trust them. They're the real enemy 😤
