[The fire in my heart] feels like it's quietly burning. (Q: What colour is it?) Within myself it's blue. Though previously it felt like it was more bright red. It felt like it was always burning for something. What I wanted to do, what I wanted to jump, what I wanted to achieve, who I wanted to beat. It felt like it was always feeding off some sort of fuel and burning. I feel it's really calm [now]

I am very happy that Shoma has always said that he wants to go “beyond Hanyu.” I think it was a tremendous amount of pressure…I hope that to Shoma, I am still “Yuzu-kun,” because it seemed like…“Yuzu-kun” should not be weak like this. After all, I still want to be who Shoma “wants to chase after” and “wants to win over.” I want to do my best.
