a huff in ree's mind as the zygarde core shook itself--trying to shake your head was hard when a majority of your body was your head.

' humans, no matter who they are, are blind to threats. you included, if anything you are more blind than others. '

a chide that they would not continue to go into more depth as they jumped out of ree's hands and onto the ground, hopping into foliage at the edge of the beach.

' there it is. '

what was it? a kid. and a big chrome dinosaur, sitting and staring down at the water.

“Metal thi — Tamagotcha has a name, yknow. I don’t just call you ‘green thing’.”

Ree’s ability to pack bond never ceases to amaze. The blond hustles, moving a bit quicker, looking around for any sort of threat.

“I can just have lady Moonblast anything that looks at us funny. It’ll be fine. But we don’t know if they’re enemies yet. They might be friendly.”

zing let ree pick them up--it was much preferred when it came to sneaking around...as much ss their ten percent form was fast, it was hardly subtle.

' i am not sure of the threat level yet...though it seems there are more than one. and stronger than that metal thing you call friend. '

it understood that the paradox pokemon were lost, they did not mean to be here...however they still were here, and that was cause for concern of their time.

“— battle? We’re battling? Shit, you could have told me that earlier. I can help, you know—”

They manage to catch up, though they’re breathing a bit heavier than normal, before reaching down to pluck the zygarde up, if it’ll let them.

“The beach ain’t that far. I have lady with me, so we’ll be fine.”

zing continues to jump away and out of po town. occasionally the core would glow and shift direction. it had one goal in mind, and that was find and eliminate the threat to the ecosystem.

it glanced back--which in terms of it's size made it completely twist around--and a light groan echoed in ree's mind. it stopped and waited for ree to catch up.

' it is near the beach. your strength in battling will be appreciated. '

“Hey! I thought we agreed to deal with this stuff together, I can — ah, ow, fuck.”

They turn a corner, slide, and their face slams into the ground. Ree winces, before picking themself back up and stumbling after Zing. Do they understand the images flashing through their head? Fuck no. But they’re pursuing anyway.

Ree keeps going. Zing is still in their line of sight, thankfully.

“If I get in trouble for leaving po town I’m blaming you!”

the core bounced forward, not slowing down for ree. they might have partially 'chosen' ree, but that hardly mattered now. they needed to fix the current issue that has entered alola! they weren't about to let it go, undone. even if the other cores were still in alola...they were the one sensing it.

' a threat has been detected, and i need to go deal with it. '

zing's voice was angered as it echoed in ree's head. they would have preferred to go in their 10% from, however it was better to be small and cautious before fully seeing the threat. memories of the crater flashed in their head--a memory form another core--before they shook themselves and continued.

' you are lucky that i have not decided your new ''friend'' is not a current threat, but i have to find this one! '

“hey, hey, calm down…”

Their arms loop around the dog’s neck. Ree frowns, looking out the window, before looking back to Zing, startled.

“Go? But — you can’t! I — I mean you can, you’re not … captured or nothin, but —

— hey!!”

They stumble up, grabbing their cane to go following after the core — tripping along the way, but still moving regardless.

“Hold on! Wait! Can we like — talk about this?”

a growl, followed by more barks. it was not meant to be here. even ree's new 'friend' made them uneasy, a reminder to another, as well as the unorderly. paradoxes, they did not belong, let them be sent to another world, never again returning.

this was different, however, worse even.

' i need to go. ' voice echoing in ree's mind while teeth gritted and growled before seeming to shatter into pieces, leaving only the orange core.

  the ‘tunnels’–sometimes known as The Slumbering Gems–which the aura trio “originate” from and originally hibernated within are said to be alive. every record of them–whether people knew what they were or not–have indicated a sort of breathing to the crystals and how they seem to sometimes grow before one’s eye. to say that they are alive…would be correct, perhaps even an understatement. for the first millenia or longer that yveltal and xerneas had slept in those tunnels, they emitted the life and energy that they had absorbed, creating life from nothing. imbuing anything from the stones, to the high pressure hot springs with life. anything seems to be possible the deeper one goes within these tunnels, prehistoric beasts to living stone, to eyes splayed within the crystals that seem to blink in one angle while only shining in another. even after the legends lost their way and could not return to the slumbering gems, it had already been enough–more than enough–for them to grow, to live, to be. these crystals have spread across the underground, they are the living layer of the earth, containing long lost pokemon to undiscovered ones. the sleeping beasts gave life to the gems of below, and they still breath today.
