I'm about to be real blasphemous here considering how much I've been gushing over the new ghoul outfits and considering the lil something something I'm working on...

WHAT A DOWNGRADE OMG 😭

Okay BEFORE Y'ALL COME AT ME WITH PITCHFORKS!!! Let me explain myself!!!!

These are the last two ghoul costumes we've seen. The layers. The different fabrics, the stitching, the attention to detail, the garment construction. All of those make the ghouls look so cohesive next to Copia, they feel like they belong next to him and like they're part of the same piece. They don't feel like second thoughts either, they're fully fleshed out ideas and they look the part.

And then we have the new guy, in THE most intricate costume we've seen for Ghost yet, and his entourage is in... Bodysuits?

If I was someone with no prior knowledge of Ghost and I saw pics of him, and then the ghouls, I probably wouldn't assume they're even part of the same piece of media. He stands out like a sassy, sparkly, satanic sore thumb. Yes he's supposed to stand out but like... C'mon.

Not to mention (I will mention it a lot) the complete lack of originality and demonstration of craftsmanship in those costumes. I'm really hoping that I'm proven wrong when we get higher resolution pictures of these costumes, but I'm not impressed by them. I love them, don't get me wrong, but as standalone stage costumes, not as costumes for GHOST.

I literally could've come up with those costumes in a couple hours, and I was the worst student in my costume design class. In fact, I almost made myself a shirt exactly like the top of the bodysuits for a concert I went to a week ago. (What a powermove it would've been to say I unknowingly predicted the costumes fr)

As for the lack of craftsmanship shown, well... Do I really need to explain myself? The amount of work and knowledge that went into making the previous costumes is evident and extremely impressive, I mean the construction of the garments alone is a work of art... And then we have bodysuits. Y'all, I was making bodysuits at 15, it's not that hard. The most impressive part of the new costumes is that they had the patience to put so many rhinestones down, I'm sorry.

One last time before I leave : I love them, I think they're very pretty costumes and I'm excited to see how they look and move on stage! I just don't feel like they live up to the hype.
