We are all like fireworks. We climb, shine and always go our separate ways and become further apart. But even if that time comes, let's not disappear like a firework, and continue to shine... forever. -Tōshirō Hitsugaya (Bleach) #followforfollow (at Riverwalk Ah Nab Awen Park)

Is it the feeling a photo creates, or the technical settings and brand name of the camera that makes it perfect in your eyes? I'd venture to say it's the feeling and ability to relate to a photograph that draws us in. But with so many options, it's so easy for us to get caught up in what we are shooting with; brand, quality, look, megapixels... I often hear professional photographers scoff at people who approach a beautiful landscape with a phone, take a photo, and walk away. I understand that sentiment, but who's to say those carrying less gear aren't having a more intimate experience with the environment around them? Not focusing so much on creating the technically "perfect", but rather spending more time enjoying the landscape. The illusion that more gear and the perfect camera makes you more likely to create a great photo is a hard pill to swallow. But the truth is the more you know, the less you need. #photography #followforfollow (at Taipei, Taiwan)

“If I ever happen to have an accident that eventually costs me my life, I hope it is in one go. I would not like to be in a wheelchair. I would not like to be in a hospital suffering from whatever injury it was. If I’m going to live, I want to live fully, very intensely, because I am an intense person. It would ruin my life if I had to live partially.” - Ayrton Senna #followforfollow #happybirthday #ayrtonsenna #VivaIntensimento (at Hilo, Hawaii)

You're not her, though I try to see you differently. I tow the line. You see, I'm searching for what used to be, mine. And I saw your eyes, and then I saw her staring back at me... #happyvalentinesday #edsheeran #sunburn #followforfollow (Photo courtesy of Cody Yamaguchi Photography.) Everyday we change the world; but to change the world in a way that means anything, that takes more time than most people have. It never happens all at once. It's slow, it's methodical, it's exhausting. Most people don't have the stomach for it. #followforfollow (at London, United Kingdom)

We spend too much time convincing ourselves that it could have been better, or it wasn't as good as it could have been. Those thoughts can really crush the experience in the present moment. Photographers are the worst at it... Constantly comparing one image to someone else's and realizing how they missed the best light or how some uncontrollable factor made their experience not as good as those they have seen. This is where the camera can work against you; forcing you to feel like your trip was unsuccessful if you don't come back with something "Instagram worthy." At some point, you either let this stifle your creativity or you realize that the camera is just a small part of the experience. #followforfollow (at Mauna Kea Observatory/Summit)

I used to think that in order for a photo to be good, it had to be technically perfect. Light, color, composition, exposure... It was kind of suffocating creatively. I think that now more than ever, I've realized it's what you shoot that matters. More importantly, what you say about it, or rather, what it says about you. In this day and age, practically anyone can shoot a good photo; it's the relationship between the artist and their work that needs to be the most important. The easiest way to find out what someone fears losing is to look at what they photograph. #followforfollow (at Mauna Kea Observatory/Summit)
