Copper Heart.
I pay dearly for the mistakes of my parents before me;
Runaways, that found temporary love in eachother
before learning how to love themselves.
Because of their choices I have nothing, and nowhere to call my own,
Only those that I trust can be my home.
Maybe if I had some stability growing up,
I could allow myself to be reckless.
But I’ve seen what taking risks can do to a future,
So I think I’ll just stay right here where it’s safe.
Because Love is safe…
Without it I’d be stranded,
Tossed aside and disregarded.
But luckily I am with Love,
Her clutches keep me grounded.
Free from thinking other thoughts,
Excused from exploring new ideas,
Saved from the grueling task of having to
Find myself in the company of strangers.
While all you lost souls scramble around naked in the darkness,
I get to enjoy the benefits of salvation.

A Poem For A Poet.
Crooked smile, dagger tooth,
Tiger claws rip down my chest.
Discolored flesh from dragon breath
Reminding me to not forget.
With every right thing I do
My rage grows strong,
Why must the right thing to do
Feel so wrong?
Inferno bites my heels
Urging me to run,
Wind lifts my arms,
Forcing me to fly,
But Temptation licks my stomach,
Begging me to stay.
Feeling feelings hard to see,
Feelings feeling lost at sea.
Unsure of who I’m meant to be,
This quest will be the death of me.

Gentle reminder that the human eye is naturally drawn by noise and movement, so the next time you walk into a crowd or a bit late into a lecture or something like that, they’re not staring at you or judging; it’s just an instinctive reaction that has nothing to do with you doing anything wrong.
