in Disco Elysium I was expecting there to be some kind of “addiction mechanic” that would add a long-term downside to taking drugs, and was surprised not only by the absence of any such mechanic but also that the benefits of drugs greatly outweighed the cost. anyways fast forward to the late game and I was downing three bottles of pyrholidon and smoking an entire pack of cigarettes before attempting any check, and it was only then I realized there was in fact an addiction mechanic

been a bit obsessed on and off with the idea of a 13 month year where each month is 28 days

ever 4 years you'd have a leap week of 5 days to make up for both the almost quarter day shortage of normal years and the resulting 364 day years of 13 months that are 28 days. that's clear yeah?

anyway that expanded to the idea that a 24 hour day split into two halves is also nonsense. I want to metric-ize hours and seconds. 10 hour days where each hour is the length of 2.4 current hours. 100 second minutes and 100 minute hours which if you're following along and the math in my head is correct, means my seconds would be about 1.44 seconds longer than current real seconds

so while I cannot easily make an analog clock count with my seconds, I realized I can relatively easily take a 24 hour analog clock and make a custom 10 hour clock face. so that's probably a little pet project soon

god americans are so funny in a very sad and paranoid way. our education system is such a tragic joke. i don’t know what’s more hysterical about this. the suggestion that Iran didn’t previously know where Whiteman Airforce Base was or that we keep B-2 bombers there until Trump announced it on Truth Social (you used to be able to see them on Google Maps), the panic from r/missouri that Iran is capable or interested in any way shape or form of launching a nuclear weapon that can reach fucking Warrensburg or the half dozen jokes in the comments about how the K in Donakd stands for “Krasnov” which makes no sense whatsoever and people suggesting the typo is in fact a purposeful nefarious attempt at distracting from the real conspiracy and everyone discussing it is falling into his trap (??????)
