about On Ugliness: medieval to Contemporary at Skarstedt. i have animosity towards this text and how i resolved/fleshed out the thinking, but it's ok! not a hit every week! and everyone has been v kind about it :)))

>>> the more i think about it, the more i realise there really is a HUGE gap between the way painters talk about painting and the way critics/historians talk about it. this was an interesting exercise in closing that gap :)
