Alright, TS Entertainment is getting in trouble for not paying their artists and is being prosecuted to the Ministry of Emplyment and Labour for violating the law.
And I wanted to compile the many things TS has done and the claims of their artists to bring this situation into light. This is a very simplified and short version.
- SONAMOO’s Sumin And Nahum literally not having a contract to pay them
- Sleepy (rapper) not being paid for 10 YEARS
- B.A.P (just a summary, go to https://busantokki.tumblr.com/post/103879206203/translation-summary-why-bap-files-a-lawsuit for a more detailed summary)
- All medical expenses were covered by the members parents rather than the agency.
- Agency neglected the doctor’s advice and dragged the member out out of the hospital
- the group brought in roughly 10 billion won (approx. 9.1 million USD) in sales, of which they say each member only received 18 million won (approx. 16.3 thousand USD).
- TS is also suing their artists for leaving th company and leaving their contract early, but honestly, it’s hard to blame the artists when you know the working conditions
For me, I honestly enjoyed B.A.P's overseas concerts more than the one in Korea. The production and sound system in Korea was better, yeah, but the audience and the hype in Europe was more my style. Helsinki and Warsaw were the best.
KPOP Concerts in Korea hit differently than KPOP concerts around the world. The production, the fan chants, the projects are just so beautifully done and I am glad I was given the opportunity to experience one.
Because of recent controversies (Sleepy and TS, TS being handed to Ministry of Employment and Labor) I want to show this article again where a few pieces of Yongguks book get quoted. I hope for all the remaining artists and workers to be free soon from this hellhole and find their own happiness, just like Yongguk did by himself. Nobody deserves to suffer like that.
Edit: for proper - not out of context ripped - translation check this post
I said myself that I won‘t share anything about the book and accept Yongguk‘s wish, but I feel like this part is very important. It’s not the full version of what he wrote and the translation probably isn’t the most accurate, but yeah. Keep those words in mind next time he posts a piece of his art and how your supportive meant comments actually seem to him.
„At first, I didn’t want to show my pictures. Later, I felt a sense of pleasure by posting it on Instagram. I did not want to be evaluated. […] I admit that I can not draw, but I hate it when people try to figure out my state of mind with my pictures. I am not a real monster!“
Former B.A.P member Himchan forwarded to court trial on charges of sexual assault
According to prosecution on June 25, a sexual assault case involving former B.A.P member Himchan (29) has been forward for court trial.
Back in April of this year, police indicted the former idol without detention for charges of sexually assaulting a female. Himchan was originally involved in this case back on July 24, 2018, during an outing with 3 males and 3 females at a pension in Gyeonggi province. The party involved drinking, and afterward, female ‘A’ called the police and accused Himchan of sexual assault.
However, during the police investigation, Himchan claimed that “there was mutual feelings”, while 'A’ claimed, “I was sexually assaulted by force.”
After questioning various witnesses, police determined that the charge against Himchan was valid. His first court hearing will take place on July 12.
