i'm so excited for pit babe s2 but that trailer/teaser contains so many things that worry me,,, especially as a kenta lover they laid a really good baseline for him in s1 and there are so many fun things they could do for his character arc, however from what it seems there's a high chance they'll ruin him and i'm so scared of that,,, i would hate for them to nullify all his character development. i was saying to a moot the other day that i'm hoping for a kenta/kentakim focused s2 or spin off,,, well this was not what i had in mind ngl,,, it makes sense that he's in prison of course but i don't like it one bit,,, maybe i just read too many fanfics but i truly had such high hopes for his story after the show,,, they have the chance to do really amazing things with that s2 but they also have the chance to ruin it completely for me

and don't even get me started on reviving tony and winner and way did anyone ask for that?? like genuinely who wanted that??

How old are the Pit Babe characters actually? As far as I am aware Babe is 31 in the novel, which means Way is also 31. However in the final episode we see that Way is only 26 in the series by the dates on the grave stone. And this creates a plot hole that I am certain other people have talked about already but I didn't see it yet. Way and Babe have known each for ten years, right? Well if they are 31 then they met at 21 which would've made sense as Babe escaped Tony's house at 18 and joined Alan's team almost immediately. However, if they are only 26 then they would've been 16 when they met. That, however, is impossible as it would take Babe two more years to escape and he didn't know Way is also one of Tony's children.

fist bump vs back pat

i have a lot of pit babe thoughts and my friend told me to share them here, i hope i'm doing it right but here y'all go:

i have a thought: when we first see babe appear on the race track after his concentration and he fist bumps way who (dumbed down) his someone he first thought to be a friend but then turned out to be an enemy at the end we see kim patting babe on the back when he and charlie walk on the track,,,, kim who he thought to be an enemy but turned out to be a friend

fist bump: babe is the one to initiate it while way reciprocates it their fists meet at roughly the same height, there is no power dynamic here and it is very quick like it's a pre-race ritual for them, a sign of comeradry and potentially an encouragement to do their best - but since we know that x-hunters steal is to have way block the other racers and let babe take the win it might also be a promise that they will both do as agreed upon

back pat: kim was the one to initiate it and there's no reciprocation which already creates a whole different dynamic it's also fleeting yet the impact is a bit different as a clasp/pat on the back could be done forcefully as well in terms of what it means it could portray approval - namely kims approval of babe and charlies relationship it could also mean something along the lines of "i trust you buddy" as in kim trusts babe to race well and also to follow whatever strategy they may have discussed beforehand

as a whole this means that both kim and way signal babe their approval yet there are some quite significant differences: for one, the fact that it's a different gesture in the first place signals that despite their similar roles as babes racing partner and team mate they are very different characters and have different places in babes life it's a sign that kim may step up for way but he will not replace way - which is why it's important that the action isn't something babe reciprocates but only accepts babe and kim are at a point in their relationship where babe accepts kim in the team but perhaps doesn't quite see him as a friend just yet secondly, it's the fact that kim is approving of their relationship, not just babe which is something way never did no matter at which point of the show you look, way is pretty much always trying to sabotage the couple and it's quite obvious and like of course one could argue that babe and charlie didn't meet yet at the point of the fist bump yet

id argue that it's still a significant difference that ways fist bump was only meant for babe and a fist bump is an action that only two people can perform at once without it being very awkward so there's also the babe and way vs kim, babe and charlie dynamic in place thirdly, both are promises like aforementioned and i don't think we can dismiss that while both gestures are fundamentally different and have, like stated above, different purposes this one is shared and it's the one thing babe struggles with most: trusting someone both kim and way portray here how they trust in babe and in babes abilities

i could now also dissect the fact that fists are seen as sign of aggression most of the time and that babe and way portray aggressive gestures towards each other but that would be a bit farfetched

i've been told that this is the best place to update about my fanfics so hi, i'm zenithsky on ao3 and i write mostly pit babe fics recently :DD here's a list of the pit babe fics i published so far: your future (is mine as well) - 5+1 alanjeff fanfic which focuses on jeff's ability to see the future letting go (is something i can't do) - fic about pete & kenta and what i imagine their past to have looked like (written before we knew about their canon past) coming home - babe and charlie take in andy, the kid that we see for two minutes that i got attached to the spy's love - a re-imagination of pit babe if kenta and kim were together the whole time no place to hide - a kentakim fic in which kenta is an omega and in which tony created some messed up rules for omegas that kenta has to deal with never too late to try (if you're with me) - a kentakim fic in which kenta tries out three new things due to kim alright, that's it until i figure out how to use this thing!! if you have any questions about my stories or have any ideas for me please tell me :DD

i haven’t seen anyone talk about that yet but i can’t be the only one that noticed the changes in the way vegas is dressed throughout episode 11: in the beginning he wears his definitely too expensive shirts that he’s been wearing the entire series so far. but then when he reads his book and the whole scene with his dad happens, he wears simple blue jeans and a white shirt which he also wears after taking care of pete and their trauma bonding experience. fine, perhaps he was just in a mood and didn’t have time to get changed. but then later on, during the ramen scene i believe it was, he came to pete wearing a simple pyjama. and since nothing in this show is a coincidence i believe the way vegas dresses is a direct visualization of the comfort he feels around pete. or rather how much he has to uphold his armor. in the beginning pete is just any other person although fun to torture but not special beyond that. then, for some reason he wants pete to see his hurt side after being humiliated, without the armor of pretty clothing. then he just doesn’t care anymore, pete has changed his entire worldview in a two minutes therapy session. he doesn’t feel the need to hide himself that much anymore, thus the super informal clothing.
