This week did not see the completion of character models but hopefully I can finish them in a day or two after work, I think they look quite stupid and this is a stupid project so that's just perfect for an Amish like me

Trying to bear in mind that I did get some work done on Video Game done this past week. Got distracted chasing squirrels with random For Fun art again and only did a couple of studies.

Naturally the answer to this is to stack as much as possible into this week, and now I have made a different style of tracker board in a desperate attempt to negotiate with the procrastination imps.

Ohhh we are behind this week and I don't like colors and I don't love these designs but they are not the focus of this project!!

Red lines were a quick trace and attempted at some break down, next step drawing while looking at the reference, 6 minute resketch from memory after sleeping, refined that (have lost some pretty significant length in the pose by then), last stage attempting to tweak things into a more dramatic angle, many inconsistencies there lol.

Was listening to Nathan Fowkes on the youtube, he discussed a gestural landscape assignment his students do where they limit themselves to 20 strokes (a stroke being broken only when the brush leaves the canvas, whatever shape you carve out with it) to describe the most important information about the landscape.

I thought 20 was too few but I would lose count after much more than that so I gave myself 30.

I did not like it.

Revised boards for Grandpa short, I do not know if they are necessarily any funnier but at least I have dialogue now and maybe a situation intro that makes for an easier transition to the crux of the anim. I wanted to slow some parts down and focus more on setting a tone to begin with so there's a little more of a jump from the dramatic to the suhstoopid.

A tiny start on boards Time: 2 hours (one inattentive, a second transferring from trad scribbles) This week I want to get dialogue roughed for (Grandpa cartoon), and make a separate set of boards similar in length to try some different angles. I'm not starting out with the characters or interior layouts because I have a loose enough idea of the space already, and I'm hoping that by putting those things off, I will be able to chew over the boards and revise things in my head during the process of designing and modeling the characters.

I'll be prioritizing this over the Smoke comic thumbnails but I'm sure I can at least get the reference board done.

Bunch of crud transferred over from a trello board really but it isn't put on a nice handy timeline. I like that I will just be able to grab and move these as they slip out of my scope.
