I'm curious-- what software/site do you use to program your games? (and do you recommend the software—does it work well for you?)
for this game, i'm using unreal engine 4, but that's mostly because it's what i've BEEN using >w>
i mean, it's nice, and i have my workflow there all figured out, but the thing about unreal is that it's typically built for beefy, high quality stuff, and not necessarily a dinky little indie game... if i didn't already have a few years of progress, i'd be using unity, or godot... i particularly recommend godot, it's what i've been using for a side project called "til countdown's end" and i think it works well for my purposes :)

i was going to add a silly little effect like bat's WHACK for flec's gun in battles, but i thought it'd be more fun if i made it flash a white square, like as a little reference to what the NES zapper games did to detect if you were aiming the gun controller in the right place... this also makes it more consistent with how it looks in the overworld >w>

the thing with Galaxy Guardian's speaking font being based on 7 segment displays is that, some letters just don't look right-- namely, K, M, W, and X...
but what if, instead of changing the font, i specifically wrote around it so that they never say any words with those letters?
