GENERAL —–

When news hits of Ron’s disappearance, Zepp uses his underground connections to try and find out anything about his whereabouts, to no avail. He soon apparates back to the safehouse, where he and Olivia ( @krumwood ) hang out --- they’re both restless, and try to distract each other while also discussing everything that’s going on. He suggests she joins the fight while polyjuiced, so she doesn’t have to blow her cover. Zepp probably also discusses how he will be blowing his cover as a neutral.

Once they know where Ron is, Mira ( @trelawknee ) and Zepp prepare to take off. Zepp shoves a ton of things in his pockets. There’s an unspoken moment of pride, I think --- Zepp joining the fight is a rare thing, but his determination is clear. This is a shift, for him: he’s not openly part of the Order, always preferred his role as the ‘shady guy’ in the organisation. But he loves Ron, and while that’s a startling realisation, it’s what drives him to step up. Mira and Zepp go to the battle together.

At the battle, he loses sight of Mira at some point and joins Hermione ( @granger--weasley ), asking her what she needs. I imagine they fought side by side for a while, but tbd. Later, Zepp and Helga ( @jfchclga ) duel, and Zepp ends up injuring Helga. Helga flees. Distracted by all the chaos, Zepp ends up crashing into Lavinia ( @lavinicmcgonagall ) and after apologising, the two end up fighting side-by-side. As Zepp is a tad caught off guard (maybe because of the shot he took before the battle, maybe because well, it’s a lot), and is nearly hit by a curse. Aline ( @unefatale ) deflects the curse, and the two fight side by side for a while, helping one another out.

OPTIONAL PLOTS  —–

More battle related stuff! Zepp has a bunch of potions in his coat pockets, so maybe he can attempt to fix your character up? Maybe your character has to fix him up with one of the potions? Maybe they duel? Who knows!

It was chaos --- pure, unfiltered chaos, and Zepp was moving through it as if it was his natural habitat. It was, in a way; he wasn’t used to anything but chaos, although not quite at a level this high, with so many people involved. Especially now that the Knights were there, it was hard to keep track of where you put your feet, or where to send your curses to. Zepp was fast, though, quick on his feet, and he dodged and ducked over the battlefield.

It was bound to happen that Zepp would crash into someone. As he dodged a scary looking curse from a Wraith, he bumped into someone quite harshly. Eyes flicked to his side, and to his relief it was a Knight. “Shit, sorry kid --- y’alright?.” he asked, his gaze back on the Wraith, his wand-hand moving as he sent a curse their way. “Didn’t mean to --- but well, ye get it. ‘Tis fuckin’ madness ‘round here, innit?”

For a moment, Zepp felt quite of his depth. He’d arrived at the graveyard only moments ago, and the chaos around him was all around him and fuck --- he was good at stealth, at hiding in shadows and moving quietly, not at all this. He remembered why he was there, though, openly proclaiming his loyalty with the Order --- Ron Weasley. Zepp might not show it most of the time, but the respect he felt for the leaders of the Order -- and all of its members, even -- ran deep. Hell, it wasn’t even respect -- he figured that it was even some kind of love. 

Which was scary, to be sure, in a war like this, but it pushed him more than anything ever had, and that wasn’t a feeling he disliked, surprisingly enough. Eyes fell on Hermione, and he rushed to her side. “Two wands fight better than one, yeah?,” he quipped. “What’s going on, what d’ya need, et cetera? I brought tons of healing potions, just in case --- also water bottles. Feck --- I feel like a mum.”

“Let me just ---” Zepp was busy shoving various bottles ( most healing potions or water, a few alcoholic ) in the pockets of The Coat, trying to figure out what would come of use. He thanked himself every day for the idea to enlarge his coat pockets, which not only came in handy in his personal life, but in situations like these too. “Fucking Wraiths, mate --- the shit they get up to. What else do we need, y’reckon? Kitchen knife?” He chuckles, cracking jokes under the pressure coming natural to him. He was stressed, actually -- he’d not openly fought with the Order a lot, his public neutrality quite valuable to a character like him. 

But Ron mattered more than whatever neutrality he wanted to feign --- Zepp hated to admit it but he cared. He cared about his fellow Order members, deeply, and now that there was word of where Ron was, he wanted to rush there. “Molotov cocktail ingredients?”

A lopsided Christmas hat sat on Zepp’s face, alongside a lopsided grin. He thought the holiday rather shit --- while he liked a good dinner with his mum ( a Christmas Eve tradition, and the first time in three months he’d seen her ), the rest was just all smoke and mirrors, to him. Still, he thought Christmas hats looked fun, and he was slightly inebriated. He was looking for Icarus Lestrange, who definitely had him beat when it came to shitty dads, which was rather impressive, he thought. He felt for the kid, in a way that startled him, somewhat --- probably because he saw some of himself in Icarus, which was a terrifying thing. Icarus had, after all, turned his back on his father -- despite the danger, despite his younger age -- and Zepp had not. Not yet, he hoped.

He found Icarus in a sitting room, and he plopped a bottle of eggnog on the table. “Merry Christmas. That’s spiked.” He grinned at him. “If you want it, otherwise it’s all mine.” Zepp dropped a duffelbag on a chair as well. “Thought you could use some company --- Christmas is pretty shit, but it’s even shittier without peeps. Brought some acrylics, haven’t had time to paint shit with everything going on, so if you wanna join in on the fun, yer welcome. I know Mira’s been giving you some colouring books, and those are fine, I guess, but there’s not a lotta creativity in those, right?”

“Well, as you know I appreciate almost EVERYTHING you vandalize. Is it still ugly now? Yes. Is that your fault? Absolutely not. You did the best you could, that’s what matters.”

“Damn. Maybe I oughta start working on my own propaganda posters. Fuck cops, pet cats! Something like that, or All Aurors Are Bastards. Though maybe with everything going on my focus shouldn’t be anti police sentiments --- but then, it’s always time for anti police sentiments!”

“Probably because languages are systems,” Viv said dryly, not looking up from the copy of Hogwarts: A History she was flicking through—an older edition, a bit scuffed around the edges, found in the back of her mother’s office from the summer beforehand when the history classroom had undergone a necessary clear out. “Most people can’t just learn mass data, so we organise it. Maybe liberate some living things first, then we can go back for the information systems,” she added, deadpan.

Zepp looked at her, mouth half-hanging open. “Alright, brainy,” he said, somewhat impressed and yet not satisfied. “Makes a lot of sense. But then --- why A first? Why Z last? No way that it’s just organised randomly, yeah? That’s way too dull. Must be something behind it all.” He wanted not to think of the real world, and the way some people didn’t live in freedom; he just wanted to have useless discussions. “Yer a right buzzkill, aren’t ye? Of course we ought to free living things first --- am just wondering, is all.”

“That’s probably one of those things that doesn’t have a reason you know, like there was one asshole who decided that it should be that way. Free the letters, a cause I could maybe get behind. Are we freeing all of the letters across all of the languages?”

“Damn that asshole, damn him to hell --- I was really hoping there’d be some cool theory behind it, right? But I bet yer right. And shite, I hadn’t even thought about the other languages! So many letters that need freeing ... we’ll need more people to join our cause; with just the two of us, it’ll take years.”
