in the last half of 2024, i didnt feel like anything i had in my drafts–whether it was something half finished and untouched or something i kept going back to–was good enough to post. that took a hit to my motivation to write as i wasnt satisfied with how my ideas were being executed when i was writing, hopefully i'll write more things that im proud of this year.

hello everyone, thank you for sincerely supporting my writing and blog for the past few years. following the news about seunghan i have decided to leave kpop behind for now. i don't know when i'll come back, or if i'll come back. i can no longer support sm when they support bullies and create a toxic fan culture in kpop. i love riize and nct very much, they are the only kpop groups i stan and there is a lot going on in both groups. i need to take a step away from it all. with riize specifically, i know how much they wanted seunghan back to the point where they were the ones who reached out to him to come back to the team and if i continue to support riize right now, i am only continuing to support the fact that sm will allow entitled fans to get their way with very disgusting behaviors. riize are not happy and i'm sure they're very disgusted with select fans behaviors. riize deserve better than that company. i hope they will get a break from this all and take care of themselves. i also hope seunghan will be taking care of himself more than anything. i will root for riizes success, but for right now, i can't be part of a fandom who treats their idols like they aren't human. i will be boycotting riize and praying for their future. we shouldn't allow sm to damage the industry and treat their artists this way. all my love goes out to seunghan, i hope he gets everything he wants and deserves in his life and i hope he knows how many people are truly rooting for him, because it's 1000000x more than the few antis who destroyed his dreams and career. i hope others can stand with seunghan and show solidarity. let's get justice for seunghan.

I hope the people who bullied Seunghan out of RIIZE feel guilty for ruining someone's career for petty, stupid reasons. The other members of RIIZE now have to perform and cater to a fan base that hated their former bandmate so much they sent funeral wreaths in protest of him being in the group. I hope Seunghan finds happiness and peace and another career that doesn't have people bullying him 24/7.

I don't go on rants much about groups- let alone groups I don't stan - but the way Seunghan was tossed around is absolute fucking insanity to me. The double standard in Kpop is fucking ridiculous.

You mean to tell me yall are dragging a 21 year old around just because he was smoking and had a gf predebut? As if thats not what the majority of teenagers do? As if yall dont stan idols who openly smoke, vape and drink and talk about their predebut sex lives? Its. Absolute. Insanity.

The level of parasocialism in this situation is genuinely so disgusting. And i would be willing to bet my arm and my leg to say that a huge chunk of these "riize is ot6" fans were Seunghan biases just last week but dropped him because they finally came to their senses that they won't be able to reach their delusional little fantasy goals- and were upset that someone else was in a position they wanted to be in. GET. A. GRIP. Bashing these adults for having lives outside of kpop is wild and detrimental-

AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FUNERAL FLOWERS. Thats fucking psychotic. Hundreds. HUNDREDS. Even if SM were to bring him back once more he'd be at risk because of those unhinged fans.

Kpop is supposed to be something beautiful and inclusive and fun but toxic fans are polluting it and turning it into something extremley ugly because of twisted fantasies and a feeeling of entitlement. KPOP IDOLS ARE NOT OBJECTS. Wake the fuck up!

I genuinely pray that Seunghan is okay and that his loved ones are checking up on him. This is the same exact shit that launches people into downward spirals and why the mental health epidemic in Korea is so poor. The haters are the same ones who are crying when an idols name is in the headlines for tragedy as if they weren't part of feeding into those dark places.

Wake up and get a grip. They owe nothing to us. Its gross the way people treat them and I pray that he is okay and that he has people walking through this with him because those "fans" are disgusting.

i’m literally just speechless about this. i was so happy for seunghan’s return since i became a briize while he was on hiatus. it was hard to watch content cause i always love a group as a whole, so i just waited. when the announcement of his return was dropped, i was so excited cause i would finally see ot7 back together. why must toxic stans have to ruin everything, and why must companies have to bow down to their demands when you’ve already decided to bring him back? to any ot6 stan reading this, he apologised for more than enough. he was willing to move on from the past and continue making amends with his members supporting him. you all lack empathy cause how would you feel if your dreams and hopes were ruined without a chance to make up for it? i hope no one ever treats you ot6 briize with an ounce of the hate you threw at seunghan. even then, i’m sure you would lack the empathy and maturity to change.

Knets are absolutely nuts.

They sent death threats and funeral flowers and protest trucks when SM announced Seunghan was finally returning to the group -- after almost a year hiatus because he had a girlfriend and smokes cigarettes when he was a trainee, which was enough "scandal" to have more protest trucks and threats against this 20 year old kid -- and two days later he leaves permanently because it is unsafe for him to continue.

SM failed this kid, and his whole group, hard.

Bowing to the insane bullying of so-called fans -- especially while there was a huge wave of people ecstatic to hear that Seunghan was coming back! -- is only going to encourage more threats against artists and more toxic fans. The company should be protecting their talent, not validating the delusional violence of sasaengs.

I hope that Seunghan finds success and fulfillment elsewhere, and that the rest of riize is given better treatment going forward (and is receiving support now that they've had to leave their friend behind).
