"My father got a little lonely on his trips so he wanted to keep us all close by. As much as I love him, I was starting to get real homesick without you and Deng. Did I miss much?!"
"Ying! Where have you been?! I’ll get you all the chocolate in the world!"

Her heart nearly dropped down to her stomach, not wanting for him to say any more. Though it turned out there was a happier attachment to his initial phrase. Before she could say anything in response, she felt herself lift up on the ground.
"D-Deng...!!" She shrieked at first but began to laugh as he placed her back down.
Her smile was the brightest it had ever been. In this day an age, the best wish that heaven could ever grant for a wife was to bring her husband home safe and sound. And in good health.
"You do know that you don't have to ask permission for that, right?" She couldn't decide whether to feel embarrassed or laugh. "Of course, Milord. Because I've only longed for the very same."

His lips deformed into a frown as he stared at her with guilty and sorrowful eyes. “My Shuilian, I’m afraid not,” he sadly replied. He withdrew one of his hands from hers and brought it up to move her bangs away from her face.
"… I will have all of the time for you.” he added, his lips widening to a grin now; his free arm tucked under his beloved’s legs and he withdrew the hand that was holding hers in order to tuck his other arm under her back to carry her body while happily twirling her in his arms with whole-hearted laughter.
As cheesy and corny as it appeared, Sun Deng truly missed Zhou Ying and he felt such joy being with her. He had countless dreams of being with her, most of the time he spent away from the kingdom - now he was actually with her, feeling her body, hearing her voice - all of the stress and anxiety he had before returning home had gone away the moment he approached the kingdom and spotted her figure. Sun Deng put Zhou Ying back down onto her feet and pressed his forehead against hers, staring lovingly into her beautiful eyes while his fingers laced into her dark hair. “My Shuilian, I don’t mean to sound too forward, but, these past couple of months have felt like years… I’ve longed to kiss you since the day I left home, so if I may be so bold… I’d like to place my lips upon yours.”

Just the sight of him alone had been all it took to bring a smile of the young Zhou's face, previously. After all, their years of acquaintance has a fairly large share of coming and going. He, a crown prince, was kept busy with constant studies. And she would go with her mother and follow wherever work had called her father to. The time they had spent physically together were few despite their marital status.
Hearing her name slip off his tongue was one thing--and hearing him call her by a dear nickname was another. It was one that just so happened to have derived from her favorite flower, the water lily.
"Deng..." Her hands grasped onto his tightly, wishing dearly that she would not have to let go of it again--at least not anytime soon.
"Tch. How can I not allow for that! We vowed that we will always be together and I do not intend to go back on that..." She began to interlace her fingers with his. "Are you truly done with your studies? You mean that you will have some free time now....?"
His lips formed a gentle smile the moment he heard her sweet voice and approached her. Sun Deng kneeled before his dear wife and bowed his head down respectfully. “Shuilian, I apologise, from the bottom of my heart, if any grief was brought onto you during my absence.” he began, before raising himself back on his feet to take her delicate hands in his. “Which is why I’ve returned with good news - I have completed my studies, and now, my focus is on my Shuilian. That is… if she will accept me back by her side.”

"Sun Luban. A face I am rather surprised to see." Nonetheless, she smiled at the other. "You are more than welcomed to join," she said, gesturing toward the empty chair opposite of her. On the table, a teapot was set, along with two cups that have yet to be filled.
"Are you on an afternoon stroll? I figured you must be very busy, as I haven't seen you in awhile."

"I could be called such."

"I have no doubts about that rumour...So here's to hoping we all live long, healthy lives."

"Ah! Was there any snow yet? The scenery up there must be very nice because of the different weather. And...you know what? I sure missed certain tigers as well. Like this one---" She said, proceeding to squeeze Shao once more.

"Good luck with that. Rumor has it Lord Zhou Yu’s library is filled to the brim. I hope you at least come out for food and water. My trip up for North was fine though. Felt nice to feel the cold for once instead of the borderline oppressive heat, and no training. Though…I did miss the tigers."

"You can say! I've been buried in books and scrolls and...well you name it. My goal is to read everything in my father's library before the day I die."

"What about you though, Shao? How was your trip up North?"

"Hah! Well there you are! Busy as ever, I take it?"

She is very pretty, the young Zhou immediately thought. She bowed respectfully to the other female and smiled warmly.
"Indeed, I've come in peace, Lady Bao."

"It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Zhou Ying, and I have come from the east to--travel, I suppose you can say! I might be a bit lost though...where is this exactly?"
zhouying started following you

"Why hello! You must be one of our Wu allies, am I correct? I’m Bao Sanniang!"
