Vanitas’ birthday is over <3

When Vanitas dies I have a feeling Noé is going to laugh. It’ll be a laughter-sobbing combination bc in that moment, Noé sees his whole life as a cosmic joke. A twisted part that finally snaps deep down can’t help but find this all hilarious.

What comes to mind is the Eren laugh/cry in season 2’s finale. But Noé laughs much longer. First couple seconds is shock and then he abruptly laughs for god knows how long. It then transitions into sobbing and sparks back to laughing until both are intertwined. Because after everything he’s seen, all the reveals, the people he has lost up to this point. Only for it to lead to Noé missing Vanitas’ hand by mere centimetres.

What else can he do but laugh.
