     Sadly for the snake, his loving embrace is not met with his brother -- but a mannequin in his place. Oh, his sibling could be quite cruel, couldn't he? It was enough to make a walking perfection such as he weep. 

     But just the fact that his brother stood in his shop and was giving him the time of day was enough to keep the metaphorical tears away. Honestly, he felt his luck was building up more and more with how many chances he's been presented.

     "Normal is boring, darling Yuki!" He's happy, but of course that's peppered behind the flamboyancy he presents himself with. "How are you faring at that house? Wonderful, I hope? No, I wouldn't let your living experience be anything less than 'fantastic'!"

Startled violet eyes stared as the streak of silver seemed to barrel down on him. He knew agreeing to such a favor was putting him in the line of fire but, she asked, and so he agreed despite himself.

Turning around, Yun looked around desperately, grabbing a nearby shop mannequin and placing it in front of him to save him from the onslaught of overly loud affection.

“Can’t you ever just say ‘hello’ like a normal human being?”

     His smile only grows wider from the question that comes from the strange green fellow, laughter only growing louder and more obnoxious by the second. 

     "A man's romance? Allow me to explain it to you!" His eyes close, placing his hand over his heart dramatically as he readies what he wants to say.

     "We all have our desires and my clothes are to help with that! With every fantasy you may have, I have clothing that suit the taste! Nurses, maids -- everything that could ever come to mind! Ha ha ha, are you impressed? I know you are!"

Leo sweatdropped, not liking the strange man’s grin one bit. (And will he quit it with the whole thief bit? If he seriously wanted to steal from him, he wouldn’t do so during the day.) What evils could be lurking behind such a serpentine smile? His brows raised to an all new altitude, he glanced at the card as if it held the key to his doom. “What…in pray tell is ‘mens’ romance’?”

Something told him he would not like the answer.

     Ah yes, this café would do; it was a gentle and calming café, quite befitting for the likes of him. He couldn’t help but laugh as Ritsu seemed to agree, his lips curving up into a wider smile. “It does, doesn’t it? Well, then let us find seats!” He followed after the other, moving to sit down in the seat across from him.

     His gold eyes darted along the many parts of the café, further checking out the décor. It really was cute, wasn’t it? It seemed the type that teenagers would love to lounge in for dates or to have simple girl time. How nice. His thoughts broke off once he heard the bout of nervousness that could only belong to Ritsu, returning his gaze to him. “Am I not allowed to spend time with my lovely cousin? Oh, you wound me so!” The snake laughed his obnoxious laugh from his flamboyant response, moving to rest his chin on his hand. “There’s no special occasion; I can assure you,” he tried again, not wanting to hint on the fact that he had been feeling a little lonely lately.

     “So, how do you take your tea? With sugar, I hope?” If not, what was wrong with him?

     "Is my nose running again? Ah, how embarrassing." He takes the handkerchief from her, wiping his nose. "Thank you. I don't fare well with someone as great as me, as you can see."

"I think you should use this." ‘This’ is referring to the silken handkerchief in her hand that was being offered to the other. His nose was running!

"It’s all right. You are not a tool. If someone like me can have someone who is there for me then surely a good kid like you isn’t as alone as you think you are." Ayame Sohma, volume 8, chapter 47

     "They? Well, they certainly weren't wrong." He attempts for the words to come out nicely, but of course they're anything but. "Flowers though? Really? Ha ha ha, you amuse me so! Where have you learned to flirt?"

        “Is that right? I suppose they weren’t          lying when said I wasn’t ’ on top of          my game ’ I guess.”

     "That's good, but I feel like you could do so much better."

        “If I were to have a flower for every time          I am to think of you, I would be walking          through a garden for eternity.”

     "Oh ho ho! You actually have a special someone?" Now he's curious. "May I ask who this person is? Have you already began pining after them? Asked them out for a date or something like that? You have to work quick or they will be taken!" 

Giving a small chuckle, Hatori gives a more genuine smile. “Well, now that you bring it up, there actually is somebody who I’ve been growing close to.”

     "Why my eyes are gold?" He's been asked this numerous of times, almost to the point where he shouldn't be surprised when it comes. A laugh merely leaves his smiling lips, his pale hands placing themselves on his own hips. "You think they're beautiful? Why, thank you very much! As for why they're not brown, blue, or green, it's because I was blessed by the gods! I was chosen, so I was blessed with this fascinating color -- gold, just like the rising sun!" It was far from the truth, but it's worked before. 

Nao gazed at the man before her with the silver hair and golden eyes… finding it oh so strange for a human to possess such strange characteristics. “No sir, I have not.” was the half-demons reply, giving him a court nod. “Might I ask why your eyes are not of a natural color? Typically… a human’s eyes are various shades of brown, blue, or green… but your eyes are a beautiful gold.”

Despite the pride he carries himself with, he has a hard time expressing himself, especially when it comes to how he truly feels. He hides his sadness with a smile and hardly likes to let on what's really going on inside his mind. Ayame tends to mask all his feelings of sadness and possible embarrassment with a flamboyant outburst with intentions of changing the subject or to distract people from his problems.

Fruits Basket episode 14 / The Adult's Episode - Ayame's a Messed Up Snake!

"Allow me to explain it to you myself. I am the one who, a short while ago, was terribly chilled, the one who was only seeking warmth, and when I drew close to the heat of a person’s warm skin, I clung to it! That is what we call instinct, isn’t it?"

"It’s not as though you’ve forgotten, right? How cruel I was…How insensitive I was to your pain."

     "Well, I can't promise that it won't be flashy or even a little tight. Plus, you don't have any power to say what it can't be since you're not the one making the request. Don't worry, it'll probably be just you and I inside; I've given Mine a couple days off since she's been so helpful. I'm such a great boss, aren't I? But yes, tomorrow sounds perfect! You're a lifesaver, Gure!"

     “Oh? Well it’s certainly been a while since you’ve asked… I guess I could, so long as its nothing too flashy, or tight~ Besides, it’ll make up for all the help you’ve given me with my writing. How does tomorrow work?”

     "Anything you could possibly desire and I also take requests if you want me to make something for you. These hands of mine can make anything so long as my creative juices are flowing." He holds out his hands, pride written all over his face. "I also sell normal clothes are well; they're all pretty lovely, if I do say so myself."

"Um…what kind of costumes do you sell here?" Cherry asked while starting to think on what he would like but first he would need to know the type of clothes the stranger sales.
