started to think about Eragon (absolute childhood staple piece) and how Merlin and Aithusa could have had something akin to what Eragon and Saphira had, would things have gone differently. don’t remember every single detail but i vaguely recall this part where Eragon is running, throwing up baby Saphira in the air until she flies, seemingly disappears and then comes back all grown.

so i just took the concept of them running/flying like that, Merlin cheering on, feeling that bone deep joy i imagine a dragonlord would feel upon watching these majestic creatures in the air.

don’t think immortality would’ve been so bad with a friend like that.

i can't lie to you i loveee bad endings sometimes. what if nothing worked out. what if the characters gave into their worst instincts. what if they became worse. what if there's truly no hope left. what will they do out of desperation? who will they become as their worst selves?

i wonder what river's relationship to her timelord biology and more specifically, regeneration is like because she doesn't seem phased too badly when regenerating both times on screen but... as a person raised in a prison by strange creatures, people who didn't care about her (to say the absolute least lmfaoo), and more generally, non-timelords, it should've been incredibly confusing/terrifying to go through regeneration. no one had the information to help her process regeneration, so what info did they give her to prepare her for it? what can you say to a person to get them comfortable with the thought of their entire body, entire being changing in a flash (bcs it's not just the body, not from what we've seen)

again, she seemed relatively unaffected by regenerating in both day of the moon and let's kill hitler, and she knew about regeneration energy, too and how to weaponize it. so i guess the logical conclusion would be that they experimented. how many times do you think the silence made her regenerate to study it? to train her in it? how many times did they kill a child. do you think they cut her limbs off to see if they would grow back, like they read he did in an encounter of a past companion of the doctor's? hmm

a plotline that has been on my mind lately is like. the whole why would they go through all the training and brainwashing of river to kill the doctor if they'd just control her through a spacesuit? well, a foe as strong and unmoving as the doctor, not just any assassination attempt would work. "the man of peace who understands every kind of warfare, except, perhaps, the cruellest" because he would never die from a gun or a knife or an explosion, he'd find a way out like he always does. they found a way to kill him in the only way he could be killed: if he let himself be killed. and the only way to do that, to truly create a fixed point would be to create something, someone that would be worth it. and river song would always be worth it to him
