Wanted to share fight club poem I clumsily masked for a poetry portfolio

It wasn’t until I saw that

the blood on your chin

matched mine, That I would

blink away infatuation

and realize the cold, hard truth.

What once was a decoy for apathy,

Has finally, truly landed a punch

Countless hours of exchanging

Spit and your unholy gospel

Against my best wishes, you have

Made an artist out of me

And I’m not talking about Van Gogh, or

Any of those assholes with their

Work rotting in the halls of the Louvre or the MET

My medium is blood

Hands expertly knead and dig into flesh

So that his blood will trickle through

Each divot I create

And after I tap out

Spitting a tooth on the ground

I offer him

A nauseating grin of satisfaction

As my eyes behold my latest

Masterpiece

I pull myself up from the decrepit
