Can you see my heart through my eyes? If they were skyscraping pens filled with oceans of ink they still would not be able to write all that my heart longs to say. So, I will just feel and love and repeat like I always do.

In Islam there are two major celebrations. Both are called 'Eid. The lesser 'Eid is the celebration at the end of Ramadan where we dress up, go to special prayers, visit family, some give gifts, and we eat during the day for the first time after a month of fasting. When Muslims say Eid Mubarak it is equivalent to saying "Blessed Celebration". Eid Mubarak, everyone. May we see the next one. To my non-muslim friends and fam, thanks for loving and supporting me and any other Muslims you know as we went through our special month. #Ramadan2017 #EidMubarak #LetsEat

We can not comprehend the magnificence of what Allah has in store for those that will inhabit this place called Paradise (or Heaven). What we do know is that getting there is based on what we do here. So, may we be granted the spiritual fortitude to do what we must do to position our souls to be called to enter Paradise when the time comes. #Ramadan2017 #Day28 #ParadiseAwaits

As human beings one of our fundamental needs is love. We multiply and thrive off of this unexplainable emotion. If we don't have it we seek it and if we have it we strive to keep it. Whether it be romantics, familial, or platonic may we be blessed with righteous love - the kind that is, first and foremost, for the sake of God. #Ramadan2017 #Day26 #LoveRighteously

Du'aa means prayer and/or supplication. Though the major details of our lives have already been predetermined by Our Creator we do have free will and the power to pray. Du'aa changes things so we should take advantage of this gift... this ability converse with God and hear His response directly to our hearts and souls. Not only when we are in need or experiencing hardship but even when we are surrounded by ease we should make du'aa. God wants to hear us at all times; not just when we are crying but when we are smiling as well.

We are a part of the creation ... placed here for a pre-determined period of time. During our stay here, before we came here, and after we leave here we are at the mercy of The One who created us. How, then, can we not acknowledge The Creator? Have we forgotten that we were given life, then will be shown the end of that life and finally the beginning of another? We are fragile vulnerable imperfect beings. Each of our bodies is a mere vessel temporarily carrying our soul. Indeed, we are in dire need of God and God does not need us. May we acknowledge our Creator in all ways and always may He direct our paths for unto Him we will surely return. #Ramadan2017 #Day24 #AcknowledgeGodAndHeShallDirectYourPath

Fasting for a month is not a thing of ease but it is definitely worth it. It is a spiritual sacrifice that will certainly be of much benefit if done sincerely and properly. Keep pushing. #Ramadan2017 #Day23 #It'sWorthIt

May we be humble and pious enough to show gratitude towards our Creator. For everything we are given and all of the blessings bestowed at the very least we can be grateful. In addition to thanking God we should also be grateful to each other. For often times, God's help comes through other people. Therefore thanking each other is, in part, being thankful to God. #Ramadan2017 #Day22 #Gratitude

Ramadan is about to leave us. We are now within the final 10 nights of this blessed month and in these last nights there is a night known as Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree). In Islam, we believe this is a very blessed and special night and if one is able they should strive to be on worship of Allah during this time for that is the best position to be in. The thing about Laylatul Qadr is that no one truly knows which of the last 10 nights it falls upon so we are encouraged to treat each night as if it Laylatul Qadr, especially the odd numbered nights. May we find ourselves leaving our sleep and comfortable beds to perform beautiful acts of worship during this time.

Ramadan is divided into 3 portion and today completes the 2nd portion. For anyone who hasn't already, now is a good time to specifically seek atonement (or forgiveness). This Qu'ran verse is a beautiful prayer to do just that. May we obtain the Mercy of the first portion, the Forgiveness of the second portion, and may we make ot through the final 10 days.

It doesn't matter how pious or blessed someone may appear to be. Each of us is prone to sin. But, look at this beautiful opportunity that Allah has given us. If we steer clear of the major sins (fornication, lying, backbiting, usury, indulging in intoxicants, gambling, etc.) we will have a greater chance of being forgiven for all else. Now, I don't believe that means we can just parlay and skate around in minor sins nor do I believe that means we are gauranteed forgiveness. However, I do believe that if one strives for spiritual cleanliness and to live according to Allah's Will then that striving is recognized by Allah. That is what matters. Not so much what people see us doing or what people think of us but what Allah knows of our soul's intentions. We live in a world where a lot of what we see is the opposite of what we should do. We have to be vigilant as we are each responsible for the state of our souls. Praying, attending the mosque, and observing Ramadan are 3 of the top things we can do to find, be, and remain upon the right path. #Ramadan2017 #Day19 #SpiritualStriving

I used to think that I could do everything on my own ... that asking for help or seeking support was a sign of weakness. I have learned that if we were meant to go through life alone we would each experience life solo. But, we don't. We are all here at the same time experiencing this question mark known as life together. Healthy fiendships are so important. Doing what it takes to maintain them is worth it. If you have a friend (or family member) and you two are not on good terms and it can br fixed then I encourage you to do what it takes to try to make it better. The last thing you want is for someone in your life to depart from this Earth and you are on bad terms with them. It will be a feeling you will have to endure for the rest of your life. So, while you are here and able please make efforts to reconcile. If reconciliation is not possible at least send a kind word. If that is too much at the very least forgive in your heart and harbor no ill feelings. Life is too short to be mad and hold grudges. True friends are family members that we have chosen. They have price tag as their value is immeasurable thus they are not worth losing.

They say if you were in a room full of people and everyone dropped their problems onto the floor you'd be fighting and scrambling to get your problems back rather than pick up someone else's. Always search for the light... the blessing in whichever test you have been given. I guarantee you it is there but often times it takes not your eyes to see it but your heart. So, lose not heart. Lose not faith. Lose not hope. Each level of spiritual mastery comes with a greater test. Keep elevating. #Ramadan2017 #Day17 #SpiritualElevation

Maybe you've done it or maybe you've experienced it. Either way let's kill this negativity. Let us not be the type of people that turn our nose up at others. Let us not be the type of people that pass someone on the street without smiling, nodding, or giving a greeting. And please ...please! ...let us not be the type of people that don't return a greeting when it is given. Far too many people are having poor attitudes towards others for no reason at all. Our level of humanity and expression of good manners needs some attention. The world needs more love and kindness and less conceit and arrogance. May we all recognize and improve upon our shortcomings. #Ramadan2017 #Day16 #SmileAndSayHi

There was once this young lady I knew. She loved God and was firm in faith. She was talked about badly because of this. As if it was not cool to be a believer in the greatness and perfection of God. I say, no matter how great or small your faith is, don't allow anyone to take it from you or make you less firm in knowing what you know. Everyone will not understand and that's okay. Your faith is what tethers you to God. It can't be seen and even though some only believe what they can see keep believing anyways. We'll see the fruit of faith in due time, In shaa Allah (God-willing). #Ramadan2017 #Day15 #FaithTheSizeOfAMustardSeed

It's not up to us to determine what the man on the corner will do with the dollar given to him. Give with a pure heart. What is given may benefit the giver more than it benefits the one who receives. #Ramadan2017 #Day14 #GiveInCharity

May we make sure our intentions are in order. People see what we do, look at what we have, and hear what we say but Allah knows the desires of our hearts and our true intentions. Our intentions are one of the things for which we will be called to account. May we be sincere, humble, and righteous in having and carrying out good intentions. #Ramadan2017 #Day13 #TheRoadToHeavenIsPavedWithGoodIntentions
