Starting out as an illustrator, Zeljko Mikulic has been drawing for most of his life. Beginning doing mostly ink illustrations, he has since moved to doing larger, full scale paintings using oil, ink, and acrylic. Originally a professional drummer from Croatia, Zeljko moved to the US in 1995. Artist Statement - "My desire for my work is to evoke feelings of longing, alienation, and the search for connection, but to also be imbued with a playful humor to balance it鈥檚 poignancy. I invite the viewer into a world both beautiful and strange. A place where the drama of everyday life plays out among stranded clones and raw nature, while inquisitive creatures dot the ethereal landscapes."
